The tropical garden at the bed and breakfast is delightful. We enjoyed Marita's wonderful breakfast as we gazed over beautiful foliage and bird-watched. The hosts gave excellent suggestions about area activities and provided a very helpful map. Watching the sunset from the nearby lake park was terrific.

Lucky Bug is a fantastic place to stay, we had a great time there. Monika and Rob are brilliant hosts, so helpful and made us feel so welcome. Lucky Bug is in a beautiful setting with small lake and rain forest all around and the rooms are lovely and comfortable. Eating on the terrace over looking the lake is a great spot to eat and the food is really good - great breakfast every day! Would thoroughly recommend Lucky Bug.

Set in El Castillo de La Fortuna and only 26 km from La Fortuna Waterfall, Villas Paradise offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. It was such a delight to wake up every morning to a view of the lake and Mt. Arenal! The room was perfectly situated and the view was spectacular. We had breakfast included every morning and it was alway delicious and the food was so fresh...huge portions and coffee refills included. We also ate dinner there every night as it was easy and we didn't have to drive anywhere. The menu had enough variety that we were very satisfied with our choices of evening meals. The soup Azteca and Caprese salad were both delicious! The birdwatching from the balcony of our room was wonderful...we saw several new species including a reoccurring nightjar that came every night to the road next to us. Also saw lots of hummingbirds and other species in the shrubs and trees around the property. It was a wonderful place to get away and close to the volcano park and Mistico as well as several hot springs.

The view and setting Thank you to the amazing family who run the lodgings! They were very kind and attentive! The location is excellent! Highly recommended: The butterfly conservatory which is literally just a few minutes walk up the street is awesome with several stunning walks, views, and stories of its own. The amazing views from all around the property and neighbourhood! Pura vida!

Monte Terras is located 100 metres from Lake Arenal and 5 minutes’ walk from Tronadora Main Square. Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout. This property is a little gem with a spectacular view! I went with my husband and 3 children and the kids had so much fun exploring the property, using the swings and trampoline and running around. Kees was super accommodating, making sure that we had everything we needed! I highly recommend this spot!

Probably one of the best places I stayed at ever. Pure luxury in paradise. The views are estonishing from everywhere, the accommodations well equipped and luxurious, the porches just fantastic, the pool wonderful, staff super helpful and the Phoenix restaurant on site just good with a very friendly staff. The location super, a bit away from the crowded areas, still next to super attractions such as the Arenal Vulcanic park and the butterfly reserve. The nearby cafe terrace, 200 m from the butterfly reserve, offers a fantastic view where you can spit more birds and monkeys as anywhere.

Mary was so friendly and helpful. She went out of her way providing us with helpful information, logistical support and transportation. She checked on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed, which we did. The home was in a beautiful area walking distance from Lake Arenal Park and recreation area and very close to restaurants and shops. Perfect weather...no need for a heater or air conditioner.
