The hosts Milly and Bill were very friendly and also offered both dinner and breakfast as part of the stay and both meals were exceptional. It was good to meet two other couples staying at the same time and we had some good discussions over meals. Bill also suggested interesting places to visit around Port Alberni.

We loved the setting and the unit, with all the special touches. There was access to a cove where we could sit and enjoy the ‘sounds of the sea’…the bell buoy and the sea lions and the waves.

Shawnigan Hills Guest Suite is located in the heart of Shawnigan Lake. The apartment consists of a separate bedroom, living room, kitchen and a private bathroom. Very friendly hosts who gave us a warm welcome and replied very quickly to queries. The guest suite was exceptional, large and clean. The kids love feeding the alpacas at the backyard. Overall, great hospitality that exceeded my expectations.

Stephen’s Inn is for sure one of the most special places you could visit on Vancouver island: the view right out on to the water, having some sea lions say hello every now and then, watching the full moon rise over the hills… it’s such a magical view, that you can get both out of the super comfy bed and out of the bathing tub, that’s big enough for two. Stephen is a chef, creating breakfast that’s better than any food we tried on the island- with lots of nice seafood fresh out of the ocean. One day we took the kayaks that are free to use, travelled down the coast and watched the orcas blow their water fountains from a far. The detail and care Michelle and Stephen put in hosting their guests made us feel warmly welcomed, making it really hard to finally pack our bags and leave. We will for sure come back!

Nimpkish Hotel is located on the beachfront in Alert Bay, Cormorant Island. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. The location is fantastic. The owner and her husband are so friendly and welcoming. A great hotel.
