We love everything about this place. It's our second visit and I would come back anytime. The location is spectacular and the views from the room are amazing. Such a haven of peace and quiet. You can cool down in the river just in front of the property. The jungle trek is highly recommended. Such a beautiful rainforest and seeing orangutans up close in their natural habitat is certainly very memorable. The staff is also great and helpful. Rizky always smiles, Julie always happy to help, Arif always ready to show you the treasures of the jungle. If I remembered all the names, I would list them here too. The room is comfortable and as described. This place really is a gem!

The stay at EcoTravel cottages was an amazing experience. From the start of our communications with the cottages until the final goodbyes the staff went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable and comfortable. The room was spacious, neat and clean with all the amenities. The bed was comfortable and came with amazing views of the river. Breakfast was more a generous serving of fresh fruits and catered to everyone's wants and needs. They even stay with you at breakfast to ensure the monkey's don't partake at the breakfast or harass you while enjoying your meal. They staff provided their own tours of the local jungle which was such an amazing experience. They were knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and ensured we were well looked after for the duration of the 7 hour hike. We saw 7 orangutangs on our journey and many other species of wildlife. They ensure that the hike is done ethically and that their is no disturbance to the local wildlife while on the journey, I would recommend if you can to take their advice on board about wearing long pants and take insect repellent. We done the hike in sneakers which is doable but can become very slippery at times so if possible i would recommend shoes with grip or shoes suited to hiking. We can't express our gratitude to the staff who truly made our trip an amazing and memorable experience.

We had most beautiful stay in lucky bamboo - the wonderful Garden near by the river and right in front of the jungle is awesome and the restaurant offers so much different (also vegetarian) local and fresh cooked food, it‘s amazing. We spent 5 days here and just fell in love with the place and the people! We really recommend booking a jungle tour in lucky bamboo, the guides Kella and Rasta are more than qualified and so sweet and friendly people. Also Johnny, the host is full of hospitality and really wants you to feel like home. It’s a magical place and we really look forward to visit our little jungle-family again! 1.Hujan deras jadi blum bisa pulang, so duduk2 di gazebo, langsung di off kn wify nya karena mungkin kami bukan tamu lagi 2. Dari ujung kamar yg lain pmilik teriak untuk matikan lampu teras kami, sklipun belum malam hak kami dong, nyalakan lampu apalagi kami berada diluar semua untuk ambil2 fhoto, 3. Sangat membeda2kan orang yg mnginap, waktu dtang senyum pun tidak, menjawabnya pun sambil2an, di waktu yg sama ibu lain yg mau masuk nlfon dijawab dg santun sekali dan dijanjikan dijmput

Alek and Nabil are really great hosts who are Bukit Lawang's second best feature after the orangutans! The balcony has a lovely view out over the river and the location is perfect in amongst the locals.
