Featuring a terrace and views of mountain, Hokitika Fire Station Boutique Accommodation is a recently renovated aparthotel set in Hokitika, 400 metres from Hokitika Beach. Great stay! The lodge is located just off the CBD of Hokitika and a short walk to the beach. What was really nice is that due to a physical issue, I found it a challenge to carry our suitcases upstairs. I emailed the hosts and they promptly arranged for us to stay in a larger downstairs unit, at the same cost. (It just happened to be available for the nights we stayed.) Also, the firestation decor was a lot of fun. Kitchen was great and well equiped for out breakfast preparation.

Offering a private balcony overlooking Lake Wanaka and Mount Aspiring National Park, Lakeside Apartments Wanaka are just 3 minutes’ drive from the popular Puzzling World. It was very spacious and well equipped. The bedroom and bathroom facilities were excellent. We had a great meal next door in the Thai restaurant. We were sorry we weren’t staying longer. Super hosts as well.
