Long narrow drive up to Isenthal, not for the faint hearted. Basic accommodation with friendly staff and excellent location with mountain views. If you don't like pork your out of luck as the restaurant only served various tasty dishes of pork.

Its a nice village in the swiss mountains.
Its a nice village in the swiss mountains. The drive up the mountain is an experience on its own (check the times the bus drives up the mountain on the signs before you drive up the road. We had to drive backwards up the mountain for half a km.) There isnt much to do in the village itself, but the surroundings are beautiful.

We made an unplanned stop at Isenthal wanting to experience a swiss mountain town. Were we impressed! The place and the hotel were fantastic. The owner Rudy was extremely helpful and pleasant. Laura who served us was also very good. We had a great time, hiking, enjoying the beauty of the mountains and views of the lake after a great hike. I would recommend the place and hotel very highly.

Wonderful hikes and views, comfortable beds and a very good shower. Décor definitely outdated but very well kept. Boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, fruit and bread for breakfast. Also ate at the on-site restaurant which was good! Would’ve liked a little fridge and a kettle in the room to allow a little self-sufficiency. Very friendly owner.
