Great location (right near the pubs) Great access and parking. The unit was lovely and the staff had turned the heating on for us prior to arrival. Everything was there for what we wanted.

I've already given my thoughts about the place.
Being off-season, no eateries were open, but fortunately, we were prepared and brought all our own food.
You should know that when I googled "Great Alpine Road accommodation", there was no mention of Dinner Plain, Mt Hotham or any of the resorts. Only Harrietville and Bright. Bit of a missed opportunity there.

Dinner plain looks like a set from a spaghetti western, tired run down with very poor environmental garbage collection. The management committee need to have a serious look at the future direction this village needs to take as it is very clear it is not going well.

We enjoyed the sled dog racing that was being held that weekend.Prefer to stay on mountain at Hotham but definitely better than staying completely off mountain and the commute to Hotham was fairly straightforward. We ate at the High Plains hotel - the food and service was good.

Dinner Plain is a small and quiet village in the mountains.
Dinner Plain is a small and quiet village in the mountains. The location offers great options for hiking and cycling (road and mountain). If you visit during Summer you will find many businesses are closed - so be prepared, bring sufficient food and supplies. Closest options for supplies are a limited supermarket at Hotham Heights (The General) or the Foodworks at Omeo. The pub (Hotel High Plains) and the Club Wyndham are open during Summer. The Dinner Plain Hotel is currently closed (Jan 2022).

Dinner Plain is a beautiful area.
Dinner Plain is a beautiful area. It was cold, refreshing, and sunny, everything one would expect in a highland country. The walks around the village are great and a short drive to Hotham finishes off magnificent walks up in the sky with the best views possible. The two pubs, resort-style places open in late November for food and drinks were good. The houses around Dinner Plain are unique and not seen anywhere else. It is indeed a different place.
Pulled into Hotham at 7:30pm on a Sunday needing a place to stay for the night after a long drive. Booked the hotel and Daniel called me up to clarify and sort out someone to come out of their warm cozy house and get me checked in. Special mention to Scott who went about and beyond to get me into a warm, comfortable room for the night after leaving his. Thanks so much again guys! 10/10 would stay again. Also, hot coffee in the snow before the drive home was an added bonus.
Stayed three nights in school holidays for a snow stay. Plenty of space for family of four - had beds for 6 and could fit that many without it being too cramped. Kids loved the loft room. Great location right in the centre of Dinner Plain, close to shops, pub etc. Key code entry very easy. Appreciated the washing machine and dryer. Nice big open fireplace with firewood provided. Beds clean and comfortable.
Great location, easy to find in Dinner Plain. Lovely lookout to views of beautiful snowgums from the lounge/kitchen area. Rooms were warm on arrival, use of code to access property worked well. Kitchen had good variety of utensils. Drying room worked well, washing machine and dryer also ok. Good base for bushwalking during Easter break. Much better place to stay compared to Hotham.
Absolutely nothing, never got to stay. Long story short, we got robbed by Dinner Plains. Due to very bad weather no matter what we tried, we couldn't get to the accommodation and when we tried to call and move our booking or recover some of the $400 per night cost, management refused to refund or rebook another stay, and hung up on us after driving 5hrs to get there.
the bed was not comfortable with a Donna that was not breathable. We are also not sure how that Donna cover was washed . for the price we would expect tea and coffee to be provided .. this is standard in every hotel we have ever stayed in . the coffee table was also dirty with fingerprints
Hotel could do with a bit of a renovation but otherwise a clean and comfortable stay with a good room size. Good food, most staff friendly and certainly efficient. Main bar/dining area had a great rustic atmosphere. Extra dining area could do with a bit more to make it warm and welcoming.
Perfect size for us and in a great central location. Great spot to enjoy lots of walks around Dinner Plain, and Mt Hotham. Kids want to come back when there's snow.
