One of the nicest small towns in the area with a few tourist attractions including motor museum and narrow gauge railway. There are several shops and restaurants and a large town car park with EV charging.

Alford is a small town/village, about 27 miles west of Aberdeen. There is one hotel/pub there closed on a Monday, and restaurant only open at weekends, bar meals all week except Monday There is a Bistro that is only open till about 5pm a Chinese takeaway, although on its web page says it is a restaurant too but this is not open, an Indian and fish/chip carry out places too but all close quite early. A few shops including a bakers and provision shop a pharmacy and a few others There is a large co-op supermarket as well.
Places to visit Transport Museum and a heritage Centre.
Hotel lovely, has been recently renovated to a high standard with a lot of thought.
The Staff were really lovely, food was fantastic. Rooms excellent and very comfortable.
As a female travelling on my own I felt safe. I liked it so much I will go back with my husband .
Well cooked breakfast, all parts of hotel spotlessly clean, private parking in front of hotel. Hotel well situated for visiting the many castles, homes and gardens in area.
Staff very helpful, accommodating and made us feel at home. Room was lovely, clean and comfortable. Location of hotel in good location for village centre.
