Poronin is a nice little town, far from Zakopane’s crowds so perfect for those looking for a quiet place. Zakopane is only 10 to 15 minutes drive from Poronin so it’s easy to get there entertained if needed. However, having own car in Poronin is a must as public transport is not great.

Poronin as a town is used by most as a cheaper alternative to Zakopane. I am no exception. I like this town to spend the nights, since it's definitely quieter than Zakopane. And I do care for a good night sleep, where the only sounds from the outside are sheep bells and roosters.
Still, it's close enough to allow getting onto trails of Tatra Mountains National Park or to one of spa or swimming locations in nearby towns. Although my transport of choice was the car, so I cannot speak for those who take the bus. Even with car, getting to Zakopane might be a hassle though, as "Zakopianka" often gets congested, so it's good to accomodate extra time to get to places. Especially if you aren't an early bird.

Poronin is not so close to Zakopane - that may me an advantage and disadvantage at the same time, depending on what are you looking for. If you stay there, it's really great idea to start sightseeing Tatra National Park in Wierch Poroniec - the highest point of entry - and go at least to Rusinowa Polana from which you had a great chance of beautiful view without crowd even at summer Saturday.
I think it's really quiet place (if your room isn't close to the road) and I liked it.

The place is really relaxing and full of nature, but i believe that the people who live there are still not comfortable with Muslims, i was treated unequally in some places and i was treated unlike the other customers. I took the best of my anniversary and spent 5 beautiful days in Poronin amd Zakopane.

In the Summer there isn’t much going on in Poronin (a good thing if you are looking for peace and quiet!) so it serves as a great place as a base to access the Tatra Mountains. Local public transport needs a lot of improvement (it’s not impossible to get about but not easy) so a car would be useful. The scenery and surrounding area is beautiful and it’s feels good to be separated from the super touristy and busy feeling Zakopane. There are a few shops and eateries in the village which give you everything you need on a basic level and if you want more it can be found not too far away.
This place is a little gem! 15 minutes drive from Zakopane, up in the mountains with breath taking views of the mountains. When we arrived it was full of snow and super dreamy! inside the domes are absolutely beautiful and modern, extremely clean and just super cosy. In the morning we woke up to a breakfast basket waiting at our door - a great selection of breads and continental meats, delicious. If you are visiting Zakopane this is a must experience, something we don’t get in the UK. Thank you to the owners for such a beautiful place!
Beautiful location - all cottages have a view of mountains , ours had a glass door on the ground floor and a balcony facing mountains in one of the rooms. There is a parking for the cars available right in front of the houses. Property is located not far from the road going through Poronin, and is very easy to find.
Houses are exceptionally clean, warm, fully furnished and all necessary appliances available(kitchen etc).
Ours had two bathrooms. Owner is very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended, will be visiting again.
We loved the place, lovely decorated. Food was delicious too, excellent breakfast, but the schedule for dinner is too early, from 4pm to 6pm ,you must stop any activity you might be doing outside and go back to the hotel not to miss it out.
Rooms are cozy and with an Extraordinary view of the mountains and the little river passing by just right Infront. Bed were extremely uncomfortable since there two mattresses placed together and the middle part will create separation between the two beds. I couldn't sleep properly.
A great stopover for a family by car - a family of four had comfortably enough space. It took 20 minutes to drive to the ski slope (Kotelnica Białczańska). The apartment is cozy, clean, and nice. New and decent furnishings, hotel standard! Everything necessary is available, including a washing machine and dishwasher, not to mention plates and the like. And of course, a proper coffee machine - it helps to start the day off nicely. The children enjoyed the opportunity to play billiard.
The host is very kind and friendly, she even offered a help when my spouse needs a dentist urgently. She tried the nearest clinic and also found a good clinic at the city center for us.
Apartment is very clean and spacious with a beautiful Polish wooden style.
I would recommend to stay here to anyone who needs a vacation in Poronin - Zakopane area.
Very good option for solo traveller looking for cheap accomodation. Nice typical house in quiet area. Single room was small, but very well planned with lots of shelves. Friendly English speaking hostess and her lovely daughter. Nice kitchen and garden. Bus station (4-5 zloty to Zakopane) and popular restaurant nearby.
Great view of the mountains. It’s also close enough to “Poronin” train station (about 30min walk - it’s nice when you have little luggage) and there is also public transport near, but cash only. There is also few good restaurants within walking distance, that’s enough for weekend trip.
Location: Poronin is very close to Zakopane but if you don't need to go to Zakopane, you save time for avoiding the heavy traffic via Zakopane. The apartment had two rooms, fits up to 6 people (we were 4). A new modern kitchen so we prefered preparing our own breakfasts.
Good location if you have a car for Zakopane. Free parking. Did the job for us to sleep and explore Zakopane for the day. Clean and tidy.
Zakopnae Town didn't disappoint, a cool place and worth a visit. We ate, shopped and hiked!
Excelent stay, quiet and lovely village, even closer to TNP than from Zakopane.
Janina and Eva are very careful and nice.
Thank you for warm hospitality and extra egg boiling before our trail to Rysy and Orla Perc ;)
