Probably the best place to ski where we have been so far.
Probably the best place to ski where we have been so far. Large area, not too crowdy, slopes exactly to our taste (means blue and red :-) ). Well organised. Not sure where to park if you come late to the lift, but it was not our case.

Very small quiet village.
Very small quiet village. Picturesque and such friendly local people. Not many facilities in the village, one small supermarket, couple of hotels but only one with a restaurant for outside guests and they only served pizza. Cafe/Bar Val is a great place to sit and enjoy drinks at the end of the day or for coffee/breakfast. Super friendly staff who were lovely. Local language of ladin spoken or German. Don't go expecting people to speak English to you! We got by with German and a spattering of Italian but that is why we also loved it as prefer to be immersed in the culture. Piculin gondola just down the road which gave access to Kronplatz ski area. Takes about 45 mins to get over to main Platz . Badia Abtei lift about 15 mins further up which gave you access to La Villa via lifts and runs and La Villa and gondola about 25 mins further on. Ski bus seem to run frequently, although we drove so didn't use it. Parking in La Villa was 4 euros for the day. We also drove to Brunneck and picked up main gondola to Kronplatz from there. More direct to access slopes but a good 30 min drive. Lots of supermarkets in Brunneck but parking a nightmare. Use MPrice at the bottom of Piculin gondola, has everything you need.

For years, I've watched videos and read articles about this area but nothing prepared me for being there! We overused the word "wow" so much!! It's a "bucket list" trip and you just gotta see it for yourself.....amazing!!

There is much to do around the area and the staff at the hotel will give very good information. There is one attraction that is an absolute must to visit and that is the Lumen Museum (Museum of Mountain Photography) on the Kronplatz. There were other restaurants but the food was so good at the hotel and we were so tired after a full day that we stayed in! This is not a ski resort but has within the area the most wonderful walks and trails that can be done in summer or winter

We were not in San Martino but up the valley in charming village of Longiarù which is a walkers paradise. There are excellent mountain restaurants for lunch and great places to eat in the village.
Do some food shopping before arrival if you are keen to self cater as the village shop is small.

The hotel is in classic chalet style - a lot of wood and nice balconies. The building is very spacious and well maintained. Our room was spotless and comfortable. There is a very good indoor heated swimming pool. The hotel is located in the centre of the village with a small supermarket, restaurant and cafe close by and a very useful tourist information office. Getting quickly into the mountains is easy by car with stunning alpine walks within 20 minutes drive. There is plenty of parking at the hotel.
The hidden gem of the Dolomites. One of the best hotels I've stayed in, with exquisite taste, unrivaled authenticity (building dating from the middle ages, family-owned), exceptional location (at the end of a quiet valley), excellent breakfast, modern outdoor spa, perfect skiroom. Really hard if not impossible to find flaws. BRAVO Martin!
Location and view are amazing, the hotel is a few
meters away from the start of many hikes.
The hotel and the rooms looks brand new, everything is
clean.
It’s very calm and you don’t hear noise from other
room.
The breakfast is one of the best we had !
Very good ratio price/value.
We are grateful to the hotel owner for their excellent service. The hotel is exceptionally beautiful in every aspect .
The open view from the lounge and the fantastic balcony are truly remarkable.
It's conveniently located near the city center.
I highly recommend it. 👍
Amazing hotel. The views are stunning directly from the room. The restaurant is excellent and the service is great (thank you Michael).
It is directly next to the Putia trail, 4-5 hours of loop trail around an incredible peak. If possible I recommend a 2 night stay.
This was one of the best hotels we've ever been to. Super comfortable, super nice stuff, wonderful. Amazing views when you wake up in the morning, wonderful moments watching the snow falling while sitting in a hot whirlpool. Highly recommend
We stayed one night at this hotel and it was great, cleanliness like in a 5 star hotel, everything new, very friendly staff, from the living room you had a beautiful view of the mountains.
The hotel room, staff and services are pretty good. Our families really enjoyed the day when we stayed there. Highly recommended if anyone considering to travel to Dolomites.
