Braies is very beautiful location, nice lake, good parking and food. It us better to come in the morning, because of changing wheather and a lot of tourists. The boat renting is expensive 50€/person/ 1/2 hour.

Braies is a beautiful location but comes at a price.....lots of people. We decided to go slightly further a field and walked to one of the huts. For those visiting in a day trip be aware that one side of the lake involves climbing up and down steps so give yourself enough time and wear the right footwear. We travel a lot, but I do think that this area in the Italien Dolomites was one of the most beautiful one. Would highly recommend it, especially if you love to hike through woods, etc. - it has a very Austrian feel in the architecture - the area belonged to Austria until the end of WW2.

Great views of the surrounding mountains and just a 6 minutes drive from Lago di Braies which allowed us to be there early morning, before it got crowded. The room was spacious and clean, and the beds extremely comfortable. Breakfast was very generous and diversed, and probably the best we had during our trip to the dolomites. We also ate dinner at the hotel restaurant - it was delicious and so reasonably priced that we'll easily have came back just for it. Staff was nice and helpful.jonathanIsrael

The hotel is situated in the picturesque hills on the road leading up to Lago di Braies, right off a bus stop from the nearby village of Villabassa/Niederdorf. The rooms were spacious and clean, the staff very friendly, and the restaurant great (we ate dinner there two nights). Easy to get to Lago di Braies from here, either hiking the 20 minute trail directly behind the hotel or catching the bus. Highly recommended.

The breakfast was very good as well with a good variety.

Also there is public transport available and the lake Braies is acessible on foot in 1.5-2 hours.
