Braies is very beautiful location, nice lake, good parking and food. It us better to come in the morning, because of changing wheather and a lot of tourists. The boat renting is expensive 50€/person/ 1/2 hour.

Braies is a beautiful location but comes at a price.....lots...
Braies is a beautiful location but comes at a price.....lots of people. We decided to go slightly further a field and walked to one of the huts. For those visiting in a day trip be aware that one side of the lake involves climbing up and down steps so give yourself enough time and wear the right footwear. This location has something for everyone

We travel a lot, but I do think that this area in the Italien Dolomites was one of the most beautiful one. Would highly recommend it, especially if you love to hike through woods, etc. - it has a very Austrian feel in the architecture - the area belonged to Austria until the end of WW2.

We stayed here 3 nights and visited Lago de Braies, Tre Cime and Prato Piazza while staying here you can visit these locations and still have time to relax. Staff was very helpful, but you might need to wait a little or try a few times to reach them :) but eventually you ll get all the help you need. Breakfast and dinner was also very very good.

Proper agrotourism.. we were in the farmhouse. The host took us to Lago de Braies for the start of the Alta Via 1 walk for a small cost which was really helpful. We walked down to the village for supper, which took about 10 minutes. Good communication with the host when I was booking as we were a group of 7. Would recommend and would use again.

Our room was a little on the small side but otherwise was o.k. A pleasant 30 minute walk through the woods to get to the lake which is the main attraction here. There are other longer walks for those wanting to explore further which we enjoyed.

Its a chalet with cozy interiors and nice room. The host is a gem, super friendly and considerate. Excellent tasty food, we had fresh dinner served at reasonable rates. The breakfast was fabulous.
