Beautiful and green location close to city amenities as well as a base to explore Egmont national park.
We had 1-bedroom cabin with living area and kitchen. They also have BBQ in shared space, playground and swimpool. Overall the place is good to spend time and very kid-friendly.
This was perfect for us. Perfectly clean and recently renovated. Everything was lovely, comfortable bed etc and a good price. Only 30mins drive from New Plymouth.
Easy contactless arrival and departure.
My only thing which I don't like as a general thing are "Walk in showers" . But that's no reflection on the stay.
Would highly recommend.

It's a smallish old school rural NZ town so if you want malls , loud entertainment & homeless on every corner you'll be out of luck.
Largest businesses seem to be the rural supplies shops.
A variety of smaller shops , eateries , hairdressers etc.
Friendly locals & a variety of nationalities at the motor camp.
Impressive scenery in the surrounding area & Mt Taranaki as a backdrop.
PS Take a raincoat.
PPS Check out the Clock Towers animated display. We kept missing it :-(

Close proximity to the town and amenities is a bonus, especially if there is an emergency such as no water supply at the motel. You can quickly go to the town for your needs.
Motel needs to clearly specify on its website that extra blankets and towels are hired separately at least for the cabins. Doors with gaps underneath need to be fixed to prevent cold draft from getting into the room.
Toilets and bathrooms need an upgrade. As they are located outside in a separate building, overhead shelters for the walkway need to be built to keep people dry as they walk to & from the bathrooms and toilets.

Awesome little town with beautiful parks and gardens.
Awesome little town with beautiful parks and gardens. Fabulous base to explore Egmont National Park as it is only 30 minutes from the North or the East entrance. Check out Azure Cafe for astonishingly delicious baked treats, especially the Gluten Free options!

Stayed here to rest before doing the pouakai circuit. If you don't mind the approximately 40min drive to get to North Egmont visitor centre, quite a good location.
Would also recommend it after completing a hike for the access to a pool and spa if you're wanting to relax your muscles in water after a long hike.

Whangamomona is a small settlement 60km from Stratford so I can not review Stratford at this time.
Whanga is a friendly alternative little town with a great pub. Very popular with travellers
Great bar service great staff fantastic reasonably priced meals. I will go again
When booking ring the hotel direct. DONT go through booking.Com it’s about 60.00 more expensive.
Regan House was a charming older house located near the center of Stratford. The room was spacious and the bed was warm and comfortable. There were really nice amenities, including warm bathrobes. But what really made the place standout, were the other things, like a home cooked, hearty breakfast. That was delicious and amazing! The gardens and outside spaces were beautiful, like being at a botanical garden. And Judith, the host, was very easy to talk to, -she made us feel so special! We would definitely stay here again!
I really enjoyed my stay there and my hostess was very warm and welcoming. The location is very central to town with shops only metres away. The supermarket was about 5 minutes walk, and 10 minutes from the Intercity bus stop. The room was HUGE and the bed extremely comfortable. Even though the hotel is situated on the main road, I did not find it at all noisy. My favourite thing has to be the fantastic view of Mount Taranaki. I will definitely stay there again on my next visit to Stratford.
This is a great place to stay in the area. The room was very clean and the king size bed with high quality linens provided excellent rest. Comfortable bathroom completes the package. The onsite restaurant offers great food (salmon egg benedict was so tasty). The hotel is managed by great couple who take genuine interest in your needs and are ready to help. The staff were great and very helpful with unexpected level of attention to details. Highly recommended!
I stayed at Broadway lodge over the Easter weekend and would highly recommend this place. There is an old New Zealand aesthetic to Stratford which makes the atmosphere really enjoyable. The apartment was clean, staff were respectful, facilities were well equipped (tv, cleaning liquid, towels), close to local shops in Stratford and the Egmont National park. Everything was available to make my stay enjoyable, and having a base to adventure in Taranaki was fantastic.
The room was clean and comfortable, it had everything we needed and was better than expected for the price. The self check in and clear communication made the entire process simple and straight forward. The location was ideal and there was a beautiful view of Mount Taranaki from just outside the motel. Would definitely stay there again if ever in the area. Highly recommend.
My wife kept going on how clean the rooms were. The wi-fi is fast 200mbps upload and download but if you go close to the office, its like 900mbps. They are trying to make it 900mbps in all the rooms. Very close to supermarket which was nice. Full kitchen as well. Can see Mt Taranaki from most rooms as long as its not hiding behind the clouds
It was a modern, clean, well organised motel with plenty of off-road parking. Very pleasant staff and ever so helpful when kettle refused to boil. 40 minutes from New Plmouth. Stratford is a lovely little town with a magical clock tower. Beds are very comfy and the room has all the expected facilities. Highly recommended.
Great location for stop off on the Forgotten Highway. Hotel is the focal point and is busy centre of the village, people are friendly and we enjoyed looking around the history on the walls of the hotel and around the area. The lodge room was basic (see comments below) but nevertheless had a comfortable undisturbed sleep.
The location was good for exploring the Taranaki region and also because we had come via the Forgotten Highway (note hardly any mobile coverage on that road). The staff were nice and helpful, unfortunately it rained a lot during our stay so we couldn't explore the gardens and property as much as we would have liked.
Amazing location, an incredible view of Mt Taranaki right out of your window. Great terrace to have some wine right under the mountain. Huge modern baths with jet tubs, very comfy. Very friendly hosts who are so accommodating and full of helpful information. Delightful stay!
The hosts were so friendly and kind! (So were the pets!) We were lucky to book at the last minute and everything was great! Absolutely stunning views of Mt. Taranaki from the room! The location was a good stop between Egmont National Park and Wellington.
Really had a lovely time at the BnB. Beautiful set up on an interesting section in Stratford.
Super friendly host. Scones and cream on arrival-perfect after a long drive. Excellent facilities and generous breakfast supplied. We’ll be back.
We were only overnighting in Stratford, but Regan House provided a very comfortable night's stay, and a delicious breakfast as well as a friendly host. All you could ask for!!
Very cosy place to stay the bed was super comfortable and shower was awsome.
If you want to go do some nice walks around mount Taranaki this is the place too go great location.
