Breakfast exceeded my expectations, was very good. The spa area is excellent for adults. Outdoor jacuzzi in the evening cold is a special experience.

One of the best winter resorts in Romania. One can see that the investments into the place are keeping up, relative to other places in Romania. Great sceneries!! Also great restaurants and dinning possibilities, many times with live folk music.
For skiing in particular, there is a relatively new lift and current slopes are great, but there should be more lifts and skiing options. There should be one sledging option from the top of the slope as well, for families with children!! (the sledging facility within the city is a bit of a joke and quite dangerous as it gets pretty crowdy).
Overall, quite a great place to spend some vacation time!

Very nice place to visit for skiing.
Very nice place to visit for skiing. We were visited Poiana Brasov from 08-12 of February 2024,luckily on the track there were machines that made artificial snow, otherwise there would be no snow for skiing. Perfect place to practise as beginner or intermediate. There is a variety on ski lift prices and lifts to choose which can get you around 600m height and blue-red lines roads are around 4km with hotel/bars on your road to rest. The only bad of our trip was the Romanian people which are not very helpful and a little bit aggressive.

I was in Poiana Brasov for the first time.
I was in Poiana Brasov for the first time. I'm not skiing, so winter time is not that appealing to me. But I might just changed my mind. And here's why.
We took a lot of walks in the nature - and I must say the landscape is spectacular there. The forests, the meadows, the crests. We stayed in a very nice location, with a spa, so we could relax in an outdoor heated pool. Also, we found around a lot of great restaurants and the food was delicious. One after-noon we went in Brasov and explored the city. A lovely Transylvanian city!
I have to say that we were there before Christmas time, so it wasn't so crowded. But all in all, I'd say we had a 10/10 experience for a prolonged weekend in Poiana.

There is a great place with a nice view, quite silent and with really fresh air.
Everything is overpriced so expect to spend more money than planned. Parking fee starts from 3 lei up to 20 lei / hour. Bring cash with you to pay the public parking fee. The devices did not return the exchange so, pay attention to have small banknotes (1, 5, 10 lei).
There are several good restaurants around, quite expensive but good ( I liked the Escalade restaurant from the hotel with same name) , I would avoid Sura Dacilor due to their "communist" behavior (by asking one waiter to suggest something good he replied: " I am selling food, not eating it!").
A must: a trip to Postavaru mountain by gondola lift.

Nice surroundings, quite bad administration of the resort.
Nice surroundings, quite bad administration of the resort.
If it snows, expect only for the streets to be cleaned up. Sidewalks... don't seem to matter to the mayor and the city manager.
Lots of old and ugly buildings and prices for services are quite high.
We got the appartment on the last floor and it was very beautiful and luxurious. The view was amazing and we enjoyed the location of the hotel, being situated between trees on all sides, it gives you the feeling of being in the forest while at the same time having a central location in poiana brasov.
The sauna was clean and available, with fresh towels, robes and all the necesary extras. The sauna is small and has a shower inside and it is mean to be private, since the door can be locked, allowing for relaxation and privacy at the same time.
This was a great place to stay and the owners are amazing! They went above and beyond to make us feel great while we stayed with them. Really welcoming people with a big heart! A very nice breakfast too. Room very clean and very comfortable. We will be back here next year! Love it!!! We fully recommend this place, if you would like to experience the beautiful and traditional Romanian culture!!!
This was my second time at Silver Mountain Resort and once again I may say: what a delight! This is the perfect hotel for a getaway; it has high quality rooms and high quality service. Front desk staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful. As it didn't snow much, we were able to enjoy the spa and the outdoor pool. It was wonderful and still top of our list when we say Poiana Brasov 🙂
Breakfast is excellent, accommodation units are very large (if it says 80 m2 then it is 80 m2). I got lost in the room :-). Although the rooms did not have air conditioning, there was no need as the walls were thick enough not to feel the high temperature. Although the hotel has a lot of facilities (tennis, spa, massage ...) we did not use anything ... but we could :-)
We spend a week to Piatra mare hotel, during New Year time and everything was 10 out of 10 !
Starting form very friendly and polite stuff, very clean facilities, excellent food, life music and many more!
We all feel sad to leave and we definitely back again!
Thank you Piatra mare hotel, thank you to each and everyone who make our holiday perfect!
Amazing location where you really feel disconnected from the craziness that's happening during winter season in Poiana Brasov.
The hosts are doing everything so you can feel like home.
VERY warm and cosy 2 bedroom flat in a cabin. Loads of facilities to cook including a firepit. The horses and ponies are beautiful and easy to ride on.
Good value for money, the room has everything, even a tiny balcony with a mountain view. Breakfast is included in the price and is pretty varied and delicious. Helpful and friendly staff and a cute dog - hotel "guardian". The location is also good - just around the corner from the center of Poiana Brasov and the public bus stop.
By far the best hotel in the Romanian mountains. The customer service is absolutely phenomenal, the staff is so friendly and professional, and have been like this every time I visited.
Breakfast is amazing, so is the spa area. And probably the most comfortable best I've slept in in a hotel
This stay was absolutely amazing!!! I really recommend it to anybody that will stay in Poiana Brasov. The apartament had everything you needed, it’s really cozy, and the location is central. I highly recommend and would stay here again. Thank you so much for the stay ❤️
Apartment 902 is very spacious and has a great view of the side of the mountain.
Having the ski rental in the hotel and shuttle that takes you to and from the slopes is very comfortable.
The pool is a great way to spend an afternoon.
Nice cozy suite with balcony, great for smokers, great spa area for relaxing after skiing, amazing breakfast. Parking included, which is a hassle in Poiana Brașov, no worries about the car.
Walking distance to the ski lifts.
Nice view from the room.
Good WiFi.
Breakfast is currently served on platters for each guest, not as a buffet. Probably because of covid. But it's pretty good.
Good price compared to other locations in Poiana Brasov
Comfortable room, warm heated, great smell in the lobby, bar and most of the hotel, good traditional breakfast. Great view over Poiana Brasov. The room was available early in the morning, this was really great.
The room was very large and looked amazing. Better than a 5 star hotel room for sure.
The breakfast was the richest and tastiest we’ve ever ate at a hotel. It’s really special.
Very quiet setting, kind of unexpected in Poiana Brasov. Nice hotel, the very young owners are very kind and helpful. Nice touches as free coffee or tea.
