1400 meter vertical results in long runs with no walking and only 4 hours by direct train from Paris + a 10 minute cab ride. Runs are varied: in trees & above tree line. When the snow is right, outstanding hors piste above tree line & in the trees, all within the boundaries of the ski area. If you stay a week you can do days at Val Frejus with the same ticket; they say there are shuttle busses , although by car would be easiest.

La Norma is a quiet ski resort, even in Christmas period. Very friendly people everywhere! Nice restaurants with enough options. Perfect to learn how to ski/ snowboard, for the more experienced skier limited.

The ski resort is family friendly.
The ski resort is family friendly. There are services for young kids (garderie) and the ski school for all levels. The staff are very helpful, especially for the little ones, learning how to take the ski lift on their own.
There are some animations in the afternoon, after the skis are closed (5pm) - little concerts, wooden or board games, and other.
There are few place to have a snack or a proper meal. It is quite advisable to book in advance, especially in the months like February (high season).
There are two bakeries and a food store in the ski village. As well as few places to rent the equipment. All walking distance away.
You can also go hiking or walk with your snow shoes in the area.
