Woodstock Inn has a lovely ambiance, great staff and the rooms are beautiful. You must make reservations for the hotel restaurants before you get there, even thought you cannot dine there if you are not staying at the Inn. I would ask if there is a wedding going on because the music is loud and impossible to get away from. It only went on until 10:00pm on Saturday but downtown closes at 6:00pm and there was no way to get away from the very loud music.

What I've always heard about Woodstock VT turned out to be true. It really is an outstandingly charming village. Picture perfect architecture, super dog-friendly, original art and craft shops and soothing, green commons amongst the hilly green backdrop of VT, kept me intoxicated for three days. I will return with my own art supplies after feeling inspired by other creatives, for a week of blissful enchantment. The most refreshing thing about Woodstock (and most of VT) was the lack of big box commercialism. One must also keep in mind that Woodstock is heavily funded by old wealth, which can afford to pay for upkeep of charm.

Woodstock has a lovely green with stately homes and buildings around it, plus shops and a covered bridge. Crowded during foliage season so visit another time to enjoy it. Mondays and Tuesdays most restaurants are closed. Try nearby Queeche for meals those days. Be sure to visit the Billings Farm and Museum. Take a tour of the Mansion and learn the history of the area.

Woodstock is a regular stop for us.
Woodstock is a regular stop for us. Beautiful town, very walkable but beware of lack of restaurants and restaurant closings. Many are closed two to three days a week and many close early. Plan uour meals! Otherwise always something happening in town. Billings farm and museum is great. VINS nature center, hiking Mt. Tom and Mt. Peg, skiing Saskadena Six and wandering through the boutiques and art galleries, great fun.

The staff is incredibly rude and treated us like we were bothering them. I called to confirm our reservation and the front desk clerk assured me I had made a mistake and must have booked a lesser hotel with the same name in another state. Absolutely unbelievably rude. We booked through a third party site and when I pushed he found our reservation.
The rudeness and snippy attitude continued when we checked in. We were tired from driving and we’re greeted with a nasty face and the front desk acted like it was beneath them to check us in.
The entire trip continued like this. Lovely facility but the people that work there need an attitude adjustment. It’s not hard to smile or be friendly and welcoming.
I’ve traveled all over the world and learned kindness goes a long way.
Shame on you Woodstock Inn. Hire some happy people.

We enjoyed the shops, food hospitality wherever we went and the feel of this beautiful area..we had an amazing dinner at The Prince And The Pauper our second night in town…everywhere we went we had a lovely dining experience … sat by the fire at the Inn, and had an after dinner cocktail which was lovely. There are not enough words to describe our stay from our wonderful Inn and the Inn keepers who did everything possible to make our stay an amazing experience with wonderful details and attending to our every wish…
What a find! This well appointed Inn was more than we expected. Beautifully decorated with great rooms, it made our visit to Woodstock even more enjoyable. It is located along the main road to Woodstock center and close to all that the village has to offer. We had the opportunity to visit the tavern for a short time, but enjoyed the music and were immediately accepted by the locals. Heather was extremely helpful and the breakfasts were delicious. Highly recommend a stay at The Village Inn of Woodstock
We had a wonderful stay in Woodstock with Cynthia and John. They have a gorgeous home with plenty of windows offering wonderful views of the countryside, only a short drive from the heart of Woodstock. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and sharing the bathroom with the other tenants was totally doable. A simple breakfast was served every morning which was an easy, nice way to start the day. If you're looking for cozy, affordable accommodation in one of America's prettiest towns, this is the place.
Very convenient yet peaceful location. Rooms were furnished and equipped to an exceptionally high standard which reflected excellent taste and vision for traditional style. An absolute gem. Breakfasts were imaginative, ample and superior to expected hotel fare. The innkeepers were helpful and proactive in satisfying guests’ needs. Jackson House sets the standard to which other establishments should strive to attain
Breakfast was superb. The owners very helpful, and gracious. They were very helpful in arranging dinner reservations in Woodstock for us, on evenings when they were not serving dinner at the Inn. The "library" was most comfortable, and a wonderful place to "unwind." The Inn's historic significance is well documented, and the additions (outstanding new bar, and dining area) are appropriate in their historic setting.
Very cozy and charming . The room was wonderful and the Innkeeper Camille did a wonderful job preparing our room for my wife’s birthday with roses and champagne. The breakfast was terrific and everyone from the cooking to the housekeeping staff were helpful and very hospitable. After a snowfall in Woodstock the area was perfect for a Vermont getaway! Everything was done very well- superb!
Our room was very comfortable and clean. My wife and I spent time looking around the hotel at all the beautiful decorations. The restaurant seemed like you stepped back in time to a beautiful location. The breakfast area was so comfortable and homelike! We took pictures of the bar area since it was so unique! Location is a beautiful setting on the river.
It's a very charming motel, with character. It doesn't feel like the typical sterile hotel. Loved that they had a trash can that included recycling & COMPOST! :D The beds were very comfortable, bathroom was new and clean, nice shower pressure. And the host was so kind. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends.
The inn is so quaint with furnishings to match the atmosphere of the inn. I cannot say enough about our stay or the people. From Day 1, we were here 5 nights, everything was perfect!! Any and all questions were answered by the staff and it feels like a big family environment. We will definitely be back.
love this property it is nestled in South Woodstock is and beautiful neighborhood. If you love stargazing this property is for you! There is a general store next door and the property has a tavern that serves pizza! They also have pet friendly rooms. Our pups loved the inn!
The hotel overlooks the river so our room had a fantastic view. There was a really useful information brochure in the room with details of restaurants opening hours etc. Short walk into the centre of town. Great location.
This is such a haven, in a beautiful location. Our bed and room were so comfortable, and the food in the restaurant was amazing. we had wanted to stay at the Woodstock for many years, and it exceeded our expectations
Located in the woods, 5 minutes drive from Woodstock. Everything about this place was great. Cynthia was very nice. the rooms are very clean and look great. we enjoyed it very much.
Also, great value for the price
Sweet inn in the heart of Woodstock with ample parking. Breakfast was wonderful and we liked that there were multiple sitting rooms to relax. Host was very kind and informative.
