The Vesper Woodstock, hotel in Woodstock

The Vesper Bed and Breakfast, located just off the Village Green in Woodstock Vermont, is an 1835 Greek Revival home with a modern sustainable vision for bringing community together.

Breakfast was very good. Nice variety, I believe her name was Jessica, but I could be mistaken. (I have a hard time with names) the woman who worked at the Inn was very pleasant and friendly. I love your choice of decor! Upon entering an old house, I did not expect a very contemporary design! It's a very cool concept, and I was pleasantly surprised. Lastly, I really appreciate that the inn offered single rates, as opposed to double occupancy.

Quaint and lovely. We typically stay at big chains. This was a wonderful change for us. Breakfast was great. The place was full due to the eclipse, so we met so many friendly people in the various public areas. There were couples who were repeat guests, so we knew we were lucky to get a great room.

506 On the River Inn Woodstock, hotel in Woodstock

Featuring rooms with panoramic river and garden views, 506 On the River Inn is located in Woodstock, Vermont.

Breakfast was a good value, but the tables were sticky. The room was average in size, and needed cleaning, especially the bathroom mirror, nooks and crannies. Dinner was exceptional, my hat is off to the Chef, but again the tables were sticky.

Woodstock is fantastic town, very pretty (especially in the fall) with some lovely shops and great cafe/restaurants. Recommendations: The Shire is a great place to stay for exploring Woodstock. Dr Coburn’s Tonic was very good for local beer and food. The sandwiches from the Village Butcher Shop are fantastic. Just outside Woodstock is Abracadabra Coffee Shop, great coffee and Donuts, in a lovely old building.

Woodstock is a cute little town, and I fell in love instantly. They are very dog friendly which to me was a huge plus. Mont Vert Cafe was the place to be, and was super crowded but very (as they say on their open/closed sign) awesome!! I went in for a bottle of water, and came out with that and a chocolate chip brownie, which was to die for! Will definitely visit again. Sadly, I didn't have a lot of time to explore, because I had to get on the road to get home, but I did make it a point to visit The Yankee Bookshop, which is a must see. It hade a "book" theme, meaning they sold novelties such as bookmarks that looked like an old library "due date" card. Younger gens may not get this, but us older folks will love it. :) In summary, it was a lot of fun to walk through.

Woodstock Inn has a lovely ambiance, great staff and the rooms are beautiful. You must make reservations for the hotel restaurants before you get there, even thought you cannot dine there if you are not staying at the Inn. I would ask if there is a wedding going on because the music is loud and impossible to get away from. It only went on until 10:00pm on Saturday but downtown closes at 6:00pm and there was no way to get away from the very loud music.

What I've always heard about Woodstock VT turned out to be...

What I've always heard about Woodstock VT turned out to be true. It really is an outstandingly charming village. Picture perfect architecture, super dog-friendly, original art and craft shops and soothing, green commons amongst the hilly green backdrop of VT, kept me intoxicated for three days. I will return with my own art supplies after feeling inspired by other creatives, for a week of blissful enchantment. The most refreshing thing about Woodstock (and most of VT) was the lack of big box commercialism. One must also keep in mind that Woodstock is heavily funded by old wealth, which can afford to pay for upkeep of charm.

Woodstock has a lovely green with stately homes and buildings around it, plus shops and a covered bridge. Crowded during foliage season so visit another time to enjoy it. Mondays and Tuesdays most restaurants are closed. Try nearby Queeche for meals those days. Be sure to visit the Billings Farm and Museum. Take a tour of the Mansion and learn the history of the area.

Woodstock is a regular stop for us.

Woodstock is a regular stop for us. Beautiful town, very walkable but beware of lack of restaurants and restaurant closings. Many are closed two to three days a week and many close early. Plan uour meals! Otherwise always something happening in town. Billings farm and museum is great. VINS nature center, hiking Mt. Tom and Mt. Peg, skiing Saskadena Six and wandering through the boutiques and art galleries, great fun.

My husband and I stayed here for our minimoon and we absolutely loved it! The property was historic and beautiful, breakfast was absolutely delicious every day, the tavern had amazing drinks, and location is unbeatable. The absolute best part about the Village Inn is the wonderful staff and especially the host, Heather. We stopped by the Tavern every night for a drink before dinner, and we ended up making some wonderful friends; all of whom were local friends of Heather and her husband. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

We had a wonderful stay in Woodstock with Cynthia and John. They have a gorgeous home with plenty of windows offering wonderful views of the countryside, only a short drive from the heart of Woodstock. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and sharing the bathroom with the other tenants was totally doable. A simple breakfast was served every morning which was an easy, nice way to start the day. If you're looking for cozy, affordable accommodation in one of America's prettiest towns, this is the place.

Stay here for the location! The grounds behind the hotel go down to the river, and it's a stunning spot. We spent most of the weekend on the Adirondack chairs by the river drinking wine or playing cornhole on the grass. The rooms are standard - nothing special, a bit dated - but they were clean and comfortable. It's a 5 minute walk to downtown Woodstock restaurants and shops. A 2 min walk to the most adorable coffee shop in a barn right next door and a big park on the river.

Very convenient yet peaceful location. Rooms were furnished and equipped to an exceptionally high standard which reflected excellent taste and vision for traditional style. An absolute gem. Breakfasts were imaginative, ample and superior to expected hotel fare. The innkeepers were helpful and proactive in satisfying guests’ needs. Jackson House sets the standard to which other establishments should strive to attain

Lovingly curated blend of modern comfort and conveniences with antique pieces in historic home. An artistic flair! Outstanding gourmet breakfasts and afternoon treats. Private grounds with seating along the river. Though a short drive to downtown Woodstock, the personal touches and comfort of this B&B make this the perfect place to relax away from the crowds yet convenient to activities.

Very cozy and charming . The room was wonderful and the Innkeeper Camille did a wonderful job preparing our room for my wife’s birthday with roses and champagne. The breakfast was terrific and everyone from the cooking to the housekeeping staff were helpful and very hospitable. After a snowfall in Woodstock the area was perfect for a Vermont getaway! Everything was done very well- superb!

Breakfast wasn’t offered. We ate next door at the South Woodstock Store, which is always good. I liked staying in the adirondak unit behind the Inn for easy access from the car and no stairs. We loved Ransom Tavern. Excellent food and wait staff. I liked not having to check in or out as we were given a code to our room. In fact we never saw any staff other than at the Tavern.

Woodstock is such a beautiful town! The Vesper was a beautiful home and I loved the architecture. Jessica, the inn keeper, was amazing! She made a delicious breakfast and her and I had some really nice conversations. I loved the decor and the whole vibe of the place. It was super clean and cozy. I’m definitely coming back here!

very clean property! walking distance to shops/restaurants in Woodstock. i wish we had known that most places are closed on Sunday and even Monday for some. take note of that! We’re from MI and that’s just not something we would have known. MI tourism is huge- places like shops and restaurants just wouldn’t close on Sundays.

The B&B is just outside the centre and is well positioned. Woodstock is a very busy place, with a lot of pressure on its coffee shops and restaurants so the fact that breakfast was included was very welcome. Each day there was a different option, or eggs any way you liked, all of which were good.
