We'd like to stay longer but we have cats at home and I take care of 6-10 others every night w/food and huts, some w/electric blankets, so we had to get home....Here's what I like about Silverton....the food choices seem small, but they are very friendly, excellent quality of food, etc. We like Oregon Garden Resort, Ixtapa, Little Leaf, Wooden Nickel, and a few others downtown....One of the Roth's flagship stores so we like going there while visiting town; they have some great Christmas light neighborhoods and a hospital/police dept/etc if you so need? One of the ways to Silver Creek State Park(waterfalls, etc). The park by the creek in town is nice, too, during the summers anyway. Library, murals, etc,

Silverton is a delightful small town.

Silverton is a delightful small town. The town center itself is charming, made even more so with historical murals and lots of hanging baskets of flowers everywhere. There are plenty of eateries and boutique shops. Some of the restaurants have back decks along the creek, which are very pleasant on a summer afternoon. It makes a great base for exploring Silver Falls State Park (with many beautiful waterfalls - some of which you can walk behind) and also The Oregon Garden. It was also a beautiful drive getting to and around Silverton, through beautiful farm land. Highly recommend.

The Oregon Garden Resort no longer operates the Garden.

The Oregon Garden Resort no longer operates the Garden. Hotel guests can no longer go in for free. From the restaurant you see a black gate and people walking through the garden owned by a different place. No walking path’s now. We did not pay or go to garden next door. It was March looked all brown from their gift shop no color this time of year there even though it’s open to purchase tickets. We did take our son to Pietro’s in Salem Oregon 20min away great pizza 89’s pizza parlor look and cool arcade games, glow dark cool mini golf, lazer tag. Willamette pie company gift shop is good and there is hot air balloon rides and tulip garden some where close by in Spring.

Silverton is hands down one of my favorite towns, and I would love to live there some day! There are qaint shops and eateries downtown, as well as fun antique shops. One of them even has an amazing vinyl collection. Great location, not too far out of Salem but still nice and quiet.

We had great dining experiences at The Bistro, The Noble Fox (my personal favorite), as well as the Oregon Garden Resort restaurant, The Garden View Restaurant. Not only was the food great, but the service was exceptional! Vanessa at The Bistro for lunch confused us for a moment by also being our server at the Garden View restaurant for dinner...that was funny and fun :) The town has many cool paintings/murals on buildings, and we had fun exploring those. There is a town proud that can be seen and felt. As for the falls, they are easily accessible for folks of all ability levels, and that is much appreciated when visiting with a large group spanning several generations. All around GREAT trip for my mom's 75th birthday!

    What a beautifully maintained community.

What a beautifully maintained community. The downtown area was very nice and clean, the surrounding area was beautiful and charming, like stepping back to the 1920’s. A big shout out of thanks to Main Street Bistro and Pub for a very tasty breakfast and Gallon House for a good dinner.

The apartment was immaculate! Tastefully decorated. The hosts live on-site; right there if you need anything, but never “in your party.” They provided both a binder with house instructions, and a few little helpful signs here and there. We mainly used the property for sleeping while we attended an event in the area, but enjoyed it so much we plan to return sometime in the future just to STAY THERE! It’s a WONDERFUL oasis!!!

I would prefer in restaurant dining for breakfast, and since you had in dine in in the restaurant for dinner I know it was allowed. I think it was a financial decision not a customer decision. because it was Mother’s Day you opted to serve a brunch for paying customers possibly not staying in the hotel and give us a free burrito! I was not informed on the website or at the desk that a brunch was available!

We loved the cottage room with a fireplace and balcony. I had the best room because I was at the end of the complex near green space and the Oregon Garden. I don't know if I would have liked the middle units as much - I like privacy over all else in a destination luxury hotel.

Breakfast was great and we love the location. The rooms are old and outdated and not that clean. More of a “motel” experience than a resort. It is more than we usually pay for a hotel so we were expecting something even better than the Marriott. Not even close.

The hotel allowed pets, and location was convenient to what the town had to offer. The room offered a kitchenette, studio-style. We stayed in a room with two beds, one of which was in a separate bedroom and the other of which was in the same room as the kitchenette.

Located in the center of Silverton, close to everything. The service is excellent. It was a very comfortable room on the second floor. The bar attached to the hotel is very good. We did not try the restaurant.
