I went Sunday to Thursday in mid December, but it seems like "season" doesn't start in Lake Placid until Christmas day. A lot of attractions and restaurants are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and it was raining the only day the speed skating oval was open for me, so I had bad luck and would plan better next time. I didn't get to do bobsled experience and other things from the legacy site and was even turned away from the Gondola at whiteface as a sight seer. So just make sure the things you want to do will be open when you go.

One of the best small vacation towns in the northeast.

One of the best small vacation towns in the northeast. Plenty of food options in a full price range. some intimate bars and restaurants as well as a bunch of places with crowds and music. Plenty of stuff for kids of all ages. safe and walkable

Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town. Everything is within walking distance and there is so much to see and do. It’s pricey but there are so many beautiful little shops and places to eat. Walk the lake or climb a mountain, you’ll keep busy for days.

The hotel was great, very clean, beds comfy, great breakfasts! Staff was friendly and personable. Nice keurig coffee machine in room, so you can bring your own k cups if you want. They only have Green Mountain brand. They also have decaf. Location was the best! Not very far from anything! Loved the top of Whiteface Mountain, can access by elevator or hiking. Was a continuous fragrance of pine, reminded me of Christmas. While at the ski jumps we had a chance to see some of the 6-14 year olds practice. That was great! We had a very good meal at Black Bear Restaurant! Getting around town is very easy. All in all a great place to stay for a few days.

we participated in the Olympic venues passport choice and had a wonderful time exploring and partaking at each venue. the food at every restaurant was great, we liked the creperie and black bear restaurants. driving around was easy. We did mini golf, the visitors cruise on lake placid, had a manicure, made a bead bracelet, and browsed the shops. We also went to High falls gorge. the scenery in the area cannot be beat, the trees, mountains, and lakes are awe inspiring. i think that was my favorite part.

I was very surprised that this is a chain hotel - it feels like a well cared for boutique lodge. The staff was very friendly and personable, the hotel was very clean and the little perks like snacks of popcorn in the lobby, 24 hour hot beverage bar, and games/puzzles for the guests to enjoy made it feel like home. The morning breakfast was good as well, a wide selection to choose from with some variation day to day. The hotel was also had a great location by the lake with easy walking to everything in Lake Placid.

Staff was absolutely wonderful & very helpful. We loved everything about our stay & I truly mean everything. We stayed in a 2 bedroom residence, which was more than enough space for my family of 5. Everything was immaculately clean & well designed. The rooms look exactly as described & pictured. Close to resturants & stores. Perfect location! We will book with Lake Placid Inn each time we are visiting the Lake Placid area.

We’ve stayed here several times over the years, but not since the new ownership and renovation. We love the location, on Lake Placid but a short walk to Main Street. There are still canoes and kayaks for use on the lake, and even more chairs as well as a fire pit (which was never lit while we were there, unfortunately). The room was clean and the linens and towels were very nice. Bathroom was well stocked with nice products.

I tried seeing past all the negative reviews thinking people just like complaining but this hotel is just not the one. Pay the extra $10 and go to a different one. Staff wasn’t friendly, hotel room wasn’t cleaned, pool wasn’t open like they said it would be, they came into change a door lock when we asked if they could come back when we check out, only good thing is location. Stay somewhere else!

Very nice, clean, modern and affordable rooms close to Lake placid town center and 20 min by car to Whiteface mountain ski resort. Very communicative staff. Kitchenette including both a coffee brewer and coffee machine with complimentary capsules, a toaster, microwave and fridge. Perfect for us to make breakfast in the morning. We booked a room with a king size bed which was very comfortable.

Amazing new renovation! Stayed here for the Lake Placid Horse Show and loved it. The rooms are adorably decorated and the bed is massive. Check-in is seamless with just a text for the door code, and management is super accommodating. Also in a great location to walk to town or the sack shack. Highly reccomend the Boha! Thanks!

The hotel was beautiful. It had great views. We only ate breakfast at the hotel the first morning we were there. It was very good. This location is the best in Lake Placid. It is literally a few steps from downtown. Loved it.

This is a well-located, newly renovated motel in Lake Placid. The lobby and rooms were designed for the social media era, but the vision currently lacks the necessary execution to be truly satisfying.
