I went Sunday to Thursday in mid December, but it seems like "season" doesn't start in Lake Placid until Christmas day. A lot of attractions and restaurants are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and it was raining the only day the speed skating oval was open for me, so I had bad luck and would plan better next time. I didn't get to do bobsled experience and other things from the legacy site and was even turned away from the Gondola at whiteface as a sight seer. So just make sure the things you want to do will be open when you go.

Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town.
Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town. Everything is within walking distance and there is so much to see and do. It’s pricey but there are so many beautiful little shops and places to eat. Walk the lake or climb a mountain, you’ll keep busy for days.

The hotel was great, very clean, beds comfy, great breakfasts! Staff was friendly and personable. Nice keurig coffee machine in room, so you can bring your own k cups if you want. They only have Green Mountain brand. They also have decaf. Location was the best! Not very far from anything! Loved the top of Whiteface Mountain, can access by elevator or hiking. Was a continuous fragrance of pine, reminded me of Christmas. While at the ski jumps we had a chance to see some of the 6-14 year olds practice. That was great! We had a very good meal at Black Bear Restaurant! Getting around town is very easy. All in all a great place to stay for a few days.

we participated in the Olympic venues passport choice and had a wonderful time exploring and partaking at each venue.
the food at every restaurant was great, we liked the creperie and black bear restaurants. driving around was easy. We did mini golf, the visitors cruise on lake placid, had a manicure, made a bead bracelet, and browsed the shops. We also went to High falls gorge.
the scenery in the area cannot be beat, the trees, mountains, and lakes are awe inspiring. i think that was my favorite part.

Rooms very new but sterile..
Rooms very new but sterile.. No pictures on walls.Shower floor VERY SLIPPERY! Great location but parking very poor… When I complained about no parking spots available the front lady said” first come first served “.. no guarantee.REALLY? ! Not what web site says.
Very clean, modern and Europen hotel. Staff will go above and beyond to meet the expectations. Manager John Garito and Assistant Manager Polina Bobrova are very attentive and helpful. Excellent location- walking distance to Main Street. Great variety of muffins, bagels, toasts, and pastries, juices, yogurts, healthy bars, and fresh fruits for the breakfast. Coffee is the best and available 24 hrs as well as tea. Bottled water is complimentary.
This is our preferred lodging when visiting Lake Placid. Great location across from Mirror lake, close to the Oval and downtown. Complimentary hot breakfast is good and offers something for everyone. The lobby is always buzzing with kids playing, guests enjoying a hot cocoa by the fire, or people enjoying a drink at the bar and live music. This Hampton Inn consistently delivers a comfortable retreat for the whole family (including pets)!
I tried seeing past all the negative reviews thinking people just like complaining but this hotel is just not the one. Pay the extra $10 and go to a different one. Staff wasn’t friendly, hotel room wasn’t cleaned, pool wasn’t open like they said it would be, they came into change a door lock when we asked if they could come back when we check out, only good thing is location. Stay somewhere else!
This place exceeds your expectations. It puts you in the mood for the entire experience of staying in Lake Placid. They have bon fires every evening. You stay in cabins so you feel like you are at camp. The women working there are more than welcoming and helpful. I would have stayed longer here. It is really close to town but you are in the outdoors with trees and views. Perfect.
Breakfast was the best we have had at any hotel we have stayed at! . The young lady that checked us in was very pleasant and upon entering the hotel we liked it enought we decided to book an extra night stay. We were even upgraded to a suite.! The room was very clean and no odd smells like we have experienced at other hotel we stayed at. Definitely will return.
Absolutely gorgeous views and love, love, love the balconies. Rooms were quiet even though we knew there were other people in the rooms around us. We loved trying out the hydrobikes and exploring the lake. Location was amazing--walk to all the cute restaurants and shops Lake Placid has to offer. Really a perfect spot for a getaway!
Amazing new renovation! Stayed here for the Lake Placid Horse Show and loved it. The rooms are adorably decorated and the bed is massive. Check-in is seamless with just a text for the door code, and management is super accommodating. Also in a great location to walk to town or the sack shack. Highly reccomend the Boha! Thanks!
We just wwnt akiing to whitwface mountain we stayed with our two kids 10 and 12 it was good after day skiing we went in tge pool and used jacuzzi it was clean. Rooms were fine we stayed 4 nights hotel is avout a mile away from tge town you gotta drive town is cute a lot to do. Mountain is about 20 mims away.
Everything we needed to enjoy lake placid! Conveniently located a pleasant walk to both the nature trails and the downtown, Wildwood is a lake front property with an unbeatable value. We've stayed at the 5 star lake placid Lodge and another chain in town. Wildwood exceeded our expectations.
We have been coming to Devlin's for years starting before they made massive renovations. The hotel's strongest points are a) its location (you can walk everywhere in Lake Placid) and the size of the rooms, especially the high ceilings. The swimming pool is also noteworthy.
What a great welcoming and comfortable place this is!! From the front desk staff, to the included breakfast, spacious rooms with amenities, and every other aspect of this hotel, it met beyond expectations.
Shout out to Pam for being a great breakfast host!
Hotel was in excellent location. Short walk to Main Street. Room with balcony great view of lake. Had breakfast at hotel which was great and convenient before heading out for the day. Housekeeping was quick and thorough cleaning the room.
We love Lake Placid but the construction on the Main Street is tough to navigate. This property was so well situated that we parked the car and walked almost everywhere. Our lakefront room was comfy and perfect for our getaway.
The hotel is well located and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There is on site access to Lake Placid. The Placid Bay hotel had some of the beet pillows we've experienced at a hotel in all our years of travel.
The owners and the staff were great, extremely accommodating. The room was clean, spaciaous and well equipped. The view from the room is amazing and the location of the hotel is ideal, close to everything.
The location, view and bed were perfect. Paid valet parking was convenient and on site.
We didn't eat or drink at the hotel, but only because Lake Placid offers so many dining opportunities.
Great location in the center of the little town with great mountains and lake view. The restaurant is inside the hotel that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner that is very convenient.
My favorite Lake Placid Motel. Love the location, all the great amenities, the staff, the fun, guest friendly kitchen and the immaculate rooms. I will stay here on my next visit.
