We were called 2 days before our arrival on a holiday...
We were called 2 days before our arrival on a holiday weekend to be told by management that we were not welcomed because we set a microwave on fire, even though it was an electrical fire. I explained to him that he can't do that to us 2 days prior to arrival on a long holiday weekend. The manager didn't care and told me he could do what he wanted to do. Even though we had been staying in this hotel numerous times a year for the past 7 years. You could call us frequent fliers I would say.

This town of Waterville is amazing to lurk through, 2 cent bridge wasn’t just a bridge but the history due to it being there per our guide and friend David and Lisa Connolly of Fireside Inn made it better. Colby College, the beautiful homes and the atmosphere was awesome. The temperatures stayed in the 70’s unlike San Antonio. The foods in Waterville are good in every restaurant but the bakery at the Governor’s Restaurant is amazing, eclairs that weigh about 2 pounds. Made me go off my diet as it took 3 days to finish it.

We were headed home from vacation and we stayed at this...
We were headed home from vacation and we stayed at this location bc it was close to another area to which we were traveling.
We just needed a place to sleep. We didn’t need to go out for dinner but we were thrilled that a Starbucks was just 11 minutes away so we had breakfast there.
Before going to our hotel we visited a beautiful park that was close by. The park was set on a river and was within the territory of an historic Fort Halifax. The blockhouse dated back to the 1700’s.
Not a walking neighborhood, but close to downtown and highway which got us to other places in Maine visited during our vacation. Hotel was understaffed when we visited in June, but housekeeping staff were attentive when assistance was requested. A no frills hotel, but clean and in good condition. Appreciated the availability of self-service laundry, which was also kept clean. Like the suites this chain offers--again, no frills, but like the extra space and the little kitchenette area.
All of the above mentioned. Additionally, the kindness of the employees was exceptional. I applaud Best Western for their choices in Desk Management and Housekeeping personnel. I was pleasantly surprised to see a small apple orchard, a very healthy one, right outside my window. All of the trees were full of healthy, ripening, red apples with many having shed quite a few on the ground. Nice view for a hotel room in the middle of a small city. I am glad I brought my art supplies.
Hotel was spotless and cheerful. I cannot say enough about the hard-working staff! Everyone in Maine is suffering staff shortages. The folks working the hotel and specifically the pub/restaurant are amazing. A tour bus showed up just as we ordered dinner. Only two ladies were working (one was the bar tender)...they were rushed off their feet, but they were professional, cheerful, and polite to everyone. Great job! Oh, and the food was great!!
Just a run down hotel with pealing wall paper and questionable cleanliness for $150 a night when everything else in town is $270 to $300 a night. Stale cigarette smell in room. All internal locks, chains etc have been removed so that anyone with a key card can enter. We managed. The security felt lax but we had no problems.
Perfect for a quick overnight and early morning departure. Comfortable bed, friendly reception, and exceptionally clean - which the primary reason I rate it highly as a "two star" accomodation. Close to a supermarket and a Starbucks. Second time I have stayed at this hotel and I appreciate the consistency.
Excellent location and a nice addition to the area. Rooms were very nicely appointed, roomy and comfortable, if a bit too warm. I come to the area a few times a year and usually end up staying in Augusta. The Hampton Inn tends to be over priced and the other Waterville hotels are terrible.
Nice clean, updated rooms. Sparkling bathrooms. Comfortable bedding. I arrived after hours so I had to buzz the office to get my keycard. They came out promptly to check me in. Conveniently located motel. It's right off the highway but from the hotel you can't even tell. Would stay again.
The location was absolutely amazing. The view
was spectacular if you just need to get away to think about life's problems. This is the place to reset .. hands down . There is no hotel like this , in waterville that can compartment to this place ...
What breakfast? When I booked the room, it said it came with free breakfast. When we arrived at the hotel, the hotel clerk didn't mention anything about free breakfast, just that the restaurant was available. The staff was friendly.
Not sure why this hotel has a 2 star rating. It is far better than that. Modern rooms with all the equipment you would expect. Good facilities, large car park and a excellent breakfast.
This was a great hotel. Very clean, centrally located, great lobby, rooms and restaurant and coffee machine. It exceeded my expectations. I would definitely stay here again.

After staying at a few very expensive boutique hotels that were nothing special I was reminded that inexpensive chain hotels are just fine for laying my head for 1 night
