I lived in the Durango area for several years and had to move away. This was another revisit. The main attraction is the railroad. I have taken the Cascade run and it is a wonderful experience. I believe Durango has a good mix of acitivites for young and old. There are so many great restaurants and children appear to be welcome. It is a tourist town, yet I have always found that customer service is great wherever I go. There are galleries and books stores and toy stores. There is so much history to glean with exciting stories of the settlers and the miners in the area. Then of course, the outdoor activities are year round and endless. The mountain views are topped only by the ones in Ouray and Silverton in this area.

I stayed at this hotel twice and by the third time I booked a room I was priced out. each booking significantly was more expensive for the same time frame each booking. I would have stayed there again, but got priced out.

Durango is a charming old western town with a fun vibe. Great for cycling and other outdoor sports. We liked The Office for dinner and live music. We were surprised we couldn’t find good Mexican food.

Cost of living went through the roof during/after the pandemic. Durango is experiencing a housing crisis. Stunning location and close to beautiful country. Spirit of the town has changed dramatically over the years. Spirit of the mountains and surrounding area is naturally the same. The town feels kinda fake.

A nice town. Touristy, but nice. Great Hotel, older, small rooms, but very nice. Very close to D&SNGRR depot, so very handy for us. Nice town, but, perhaps a bit pricey overall. But, we knew were on vacation, and we certainly enjoyed our stay.

Durango is a delightful city with a wonderful downtown with good restaurants. We went there to take the Durango Silverton train ride which was great. While in Silverton we toured an old Gold mine that was so interesting and informative. After our visit to Durango we went to Mesa Verde Indian Ruins, a must for everyone’s bucket list. We had a great vacation in southwest Colorado New Mexico area.

Good hotel. It's pretty new, modern and clean - as are the rooms. Parking is free. The rooms are not overly large but adequate. The equipment is good and the beds are comfy. It's nothing exciting, just a really good, basic hotel. It's situated a bit outside city center but you'll be on main street in like 5 minutes by car. Would absolutely stay here again, also given that the number of nice hotels in the region is not too high.

There was a pool/hot tub inside in the middle of the hotel. It's nice that it's indoor, but not very private. Our room was on the ground floor and we heard a lot of noise from the hallway. The breakfast was great, eggs, potatoes, hM, bacon, sausage and cereals and really good little pastries. Much better than a normal hotel breakfast. Also, there was a happy hour that was nice.

The room we stayed in was newly remodeled and very comfortable. This hotel is ideally located in Durango for hikers finishing the Colorado Trail. The city trolley ($1) that’s stops out front is ultra-convenient. The staff were pleasant and professional. On-site laundry facilities was a huge bonus for hikers. We enjoyed a bottle of wine on the small patio area by the hot tub area.

The location of the hotel is great for walking into the downtown area of Durango, especially if you are going to ride on the Durango-Silverton express. The room we had was on the ground floor with a view of the Animas River. The room was great -- everything worked (iron, outlets, etc.) and the staff even had a sewing kit that I used to repair a button on my coat.

In a tourist town where the hampton inn was charging $289 it was a pleasant surprise. We have been visiting Durango for the past 30 years. And it is still lovely. But getting a little more pricey. Nice outdoor spaces and clean and for the most part quiet rooms. Just across from the animas and a 2 mile walk to downtown on the river walk.

You can tell it is an older property, but it is very well maintained and clean for its age. The room had been recently updated. Rooms were a comfortable size. Compared to prices at other hotels in Durango, this was a bargain.
