Durango was great. The riverwalk through the heart of town is great - watch out for bicycles though! If you drive 2-3 hours in any direction you can see some of the most beautiful places in the country. North into the San Juan Mountains, East through the mountains to Great Sand Dunes, West to Mesa Verde, Arches, Canyonlands, and Monument Valley, and South to Santa Fe.

I lived in the Durango area for several years and had to move away. This was another revisit. The main attraction is the railroad. I have taken the Cascade run and it is a wonderful experience. I believe Durango has a good mix of acitivites for young and old. There are so many great restaurants and children appear to be welcome. It is a tourist town, yet I have always found that customer service is great wherever I go. There are galleries and books stores and toy stores. There is so much history to glean with exciting stories of the settlers and the miners in the area. Then of course, the outdoor activities are year round and endless. The mountain views are topped only by the ones in Ouray and Silverton in this area.

I stayed at this hotel twice and by the third time I booked a room I was priced out. each booking significantly was more expensive for the same time frame each booking. I would have stayed there again, but got priced out.

Durango is a charming old western town with a fun vibe. Great for cycling and other outdoor sports.
We liked The Office for dinner and live music. We were surprised we couldn’t find good Mexican food.

Cost of living went through the roof during/after the pandemic. Durango is experiencing a housing crisis. Stunning location and close to beautiful country. Spirit of the town has changed dramatically over the years. Spirit of the mountains and surrounding area is naturally the same. The town feels kinda fake.

A nice town. Touristy, but nice.
A nice town. Touristy, but nice. Great Hotel, older, small rooms, but very nice. Very close to D&SNGRR depot, so very handy for us. Nice town, but, perhaps a bit pricey overall. But, we knew were on vacation, and we certainly enjoyed our stay.
This place is tucked right off of North Main HWY 550, it is so cute and quaint. You can easily catch the trilley or walk to numerous bars/restaurants. It was honestly super quiet while we stayed, got take out from thai Kitchen and ate in the Gazebo. Absolutely felt like a a friends back yard. There are so so many hotels in Durango, it was a pleasure to support a family owned local one!
Hosts were very friendly and helpful with information on the area. The breakfasts were excellent. The history of the house from the host was very entertaining. The location was far enough from the bustle of downtown Durango to be very quiet at night, but easy to walk to downtown so you didn't need to take your car and deal with trying to find parking downtown.
Fabulous building right in the middle of Durango. Comfortable room. Parking. Gorgeous rooms, decor and historic items. Excellent housekeeping service. We enjoyed eating in the Diamond Belle Saloon and the Office. First class entertainment in both. Parking is provided, which was great. There is an elevator, although it is small.
The setting was beautiful, quiet and in the country but only 20 minutes from downtown Durango.
The host was wonderful and the house stocked with items you didn't even know you needed.
Hosts are very easy to work with and the farm cat was welcoming as well.
The hotel is really nice and we were able to walk to the train and downtown restaurants. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Room had everything we needed. Happy hour bartender was good at getting drinks out and kept up with orders.
Staff was awesome! Breakfast was great! The room we had was a balcony room facing the river and we could hear it at night. Wonderfully located to the train station and downtown! We will stay no where else when we are in Durango!
You can tell it is an older property, but it is very well maintained and clean for its age. The room had been recently updated. Rooms were a comfortable size. Compared to prices at other hotels in Durango, this was a bargain.
The location was convenient and not far from the Durango and Silverton RR and downtown restaurants. The room was relatively quiet and the beds were comfortable. Off-street parking was nice and secure.
We rode the Durango steam train, and the hotel was just a couple blocks from there and so convenient! Close to downtown restaurants. Beautiful historic hotel. Coffee offered every morning.
