Avon is very close to Vail which is where we were going to watch a couple of hockey games.... great entertainment - tickets are only $10 online - John Dobson Arena. Nottingham Lake and Beach Park in Avon is a nice place to walk in winter and is dog friendly.

If you love to ski at Beaver Creek, it's a very short bus ride from Avon. Avon is generally more affordable for stays and has many great restaurant options. We have found many of the hotels in Avon offer larger rooms or suites with kitchens so you don't have to eat our or can share with another family. There are free public buses and shuttles to get around Avon and Beaver Creek very easily. As a family with a young child, it's a very fun place to visit and ski!

When there is remodeling and restaurants are closed, guests should be advised when making reservations.
All charges on credit cards should be reflected on final check out blll and not hidden from guest until they return home and get their card statement like mine was.

Avon and the surrounding area is great.
Avon and the surrounding area is great. Stay away from Mein Haus, a local bed and breakfast. Todd, the property owner, makes everyone sign a long list of house rules and threatens a $1000. fine if you break any of them. Everyone has to leave their footwear at the front door and wear a pair of used plastic shoes called Crocs. No one is allowed to have any food or drink in their room. Everyone has to swear that they won't use marijuana or tobacco products. The list goes on and on. It's just ridiculous.

The town of Avon is a stone’s throw from the resorts of Beaver Creek & Vail, offering an affordable place to stay while exploring all the beauty of Colorado! There is a very nice park with a small lake to walk around, live music, playgrounds for the kids, restaurants & shops amid beautiful bronze statues and gorgeous Colorado vistas!
Well appointed an well run. The one bedrooom apartment was spacious and well equipped. The free Beaver Creek skier shuttle stops about 150 metres from the front door. There is free underground parking though large SUVs etc have to park outside, but there seemed to be plenty of capacity. If you want to ski Vail you have to change buses at Avon Station, but all buses are free. Avon has good services and shops, the restaurant scene is a little sparse but the skier shuttle to Beaver Creek village runs till 11 pm.
Loved the community facilities here, multiple hot tubs, separate areas for kids to hangout, ping pong and billiards tables, steam room, sauna.. it was great. I also thought they had a wonderful attention to detail - there were cold refrigerated towels near the sauna. The hotel provided a hot plate for us to make breakfast. The location is great, just across the street from the shuttle to Beaver Creek. The rooms were large and very comfortable!
Hotel was conveniently located in Avon. You can reach most cities within 1.5 hours. There are lots of bars, restaurants, and bike rental within walking distance. We rented a Presidential Suite; definitely worth the money. Staff was very friendly. They said we had our own concierge but he was working remote so he was really no help to us. They have a large hot tub that was very nice after a day of walking/hiking/biking.
I have been visiting the Westin in Avon twice a year for the past seven years. It does not disappoint! It is quieter than staying in Vail. It is
family and dog friendly, has a fantastic gym, outdoor pool and hot tub. I love that you can paddle board or walk around the tail at lake Nottingham.
It is a great place to stay and will not disappoint!
We stayed in Avon, which is a short ride on a shuttle bus from the mountain. The line for this bus was always fairly short but if you drove and parked in the lower lots and brought a bus to the resort the lines at the end of the day were very long. Glad we never did that.
The proprietors were welcoming and hospitable. Location is within walking distance to the shops, restaurants, and grocery store within Avon. Mein Haus is also 50 yards away from the town shuttle pickup point. Even their local post office is within a 5 minute walk.
The bed was comfy and the room was clean
This is an OLD hotel. I have stayed there over the
Past 15 years. Not much Improvement to be seen.
The price today is reasonable, but the price for this
Hotel was not worth staying just a month ago.
Super convenient location, right on the Avon Skier shuttle bus stop. also they had an amazing Pho noodle shop and a super nice Ski rental shop right on property. the ski rental shop was amazing and had great customer service!
best hotel for my needs while i arrive to vail area for a skiing trip. everything was perfect (except a bit expensive during this time of year). the underground parking is all you need during snow storms
Although Avon is not in Vail, it is close by. There are amenities and good places to eat in Avon. The room was fine, bed comfortable. We were upgraded to a side of the building away from the freeway.
