The Gasthaus Kreuz is actually in a small village called Riedern am Wald near to Uhlingen-Birkendorf. This needs to be considered when using the Satnav. The village is in a very nice area in the Southern Black Forest a few miles up from the River Rhein. It is a very good base for visiting the area with lots of good dog walking.

The hotel staff did everything to make our vacation pleasant, a very helpful staff that paid attention to the little details even without us asking, (thank you very much for the croissant for the girls even when we arrived late for breakfast)

The sounds of the church bells ringing were so lovely. All the staff were amazing. They were so warm and inviting and kind. Went above and beyond. They were so good with my little girls. Food was fantastic. And portions were generous. I wish we had more days to explore around. But it was peaceful and gorgeous. My whole family loved it. We will be back next time for longer

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The location was really good as we were touring on motorbikes and both the B500 and the Swiss Passes (Grimsel, Susten and Furka) were in easy reach. We only ate at the Hotel Kreuz restaurant once during our stay (see below) but the evening meals were good as was breakfast on both mornings.

The wellness area is very nice with indoor pool and lounge area. We could plark our motorcycle in a closed garage which i very much appreciate. Nice outdoor terras at the hotel/restaurant building. Food and service was great at the restaurant. Our room was very spacious, up to date and clean.
