Large rooms, immaculately clean and the bed was extremely comfortable for a great nights sleep. I would easily stay at Szinbad hotel again.

The room layout was perfect, with the kitchen, desk and living area downstairs, and the bed and bath upstairs. The dormer windows upstairs were lovely for listening to rain while we slept, and being able to pop them open for fresh air and a beautiful view across town. The bathroom was wonderful, with a huge bathtub big enough to fit both of us. I got a 90 minute spa treatment that was great, and very affordable.

Pécs is a lovely place in Hungary with an expansive cultural heritage. The Cathedral, Széchenyi square and Zsolnay quarter are just a few of the must see spots. You can have very good food and wine (or beer) in Király street.
If you're feeling adventurous, Mecsek has the most amazing trails But even if you don't have whole day for hiking just make sure to visit Tettye and walk up to the observatory there.
Pécs is doable by foot most of the times, but has very accessible bus service as well. You can buy tickets on the bus with cash (forint).
Make sure to check the actual events (and book in advance) to experience the street market vibes, when all the best wineries of Hungary and traditional food stalls represent themselves.
See you in Pécs!

Pecs is a terrific little picturesque town with heaps of interesting churches, a mosque, a synagogue, museums and ancient burial sites. Most things are very close by. On Sunday everything is closed except cafes and it's like a ghost town which is good for avoiding hordes of tourists. Pecs is neat as a pin and would probably win a tidy town contest. There's plenty of food places and our favorite was the Korheli pub. I'm glad we chose to stop here for a couple of nights.

Not a crowded city, plenty of things to see. Older waiters and cashiers don't really speak foreign languages, even basic stuff was hard to convey to them, so have that in mind. Younger ones are more fluent in that department.

Many of the sights -- the Csontvary Museum, the Cathedral, in particular, are within easy walking distance of the Fonix hotel, where I stayed. The city is the home of a university, so the streets were filled with students and other young people. My trip was a Wednesday day trip by train from Budapest, so other than the main sights and the fact that the performance in the theatre was a one-man show in Hungarian, which I do not speak, I regret not having planned another, full day. The next time I visit Hungary, I'll spend a couple of days in Pécs; for what I saw whetted my appetite for more.

Lots of history in this tiny little town.
Lots of history in this tiny little town.
Beautiful historic downtown with great restaurants, bakeries to die for.
Roman ruins all over Pecs, St. Istvan tee with beautiful cathedral. Underground Roman ruins.
Near by wine country and thermal bath only about 30- 40 min drive.
Lively nightlife , very vibrant, very clean city.
Description of property on Bookings which appeared to be perfect for our visit with family in the area. We were going to meet up with family and tour the region from there for a couple of days. Wife's relatives live in Pecs and it seemed like a good location. As an aside our relative stated this area was the "red light" district in years past and this property was most likely a former bordello.
One of the must-go places in Hungary if you are a fan of history and antiques. Pecs is rather small in comparison to Budapest where I came from this time. The original idea was to spend a lovely weekend together with my soon-to-be fiance. And our pleasant stay at this hostel has made this whole journey more memorable and wonderful. Highly recommended to ALL!
This comfortable, well located hotel is a great choice for anyone wishing to visit Pecs. It was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was what one would expect. My room was sizeable and well fitted out for self catering (of sorts) - no stove top or oven, but there's a microwave and a full set of dishes and cutlery - there's a supermarket about 70 meters away.
The hotel was very convenient to the sights I came to see. The room was comfortable, and when I opened the window for fresh air there was a breeze much of the time. I liked the fact that the room was oddly shaped, with a sloping roof: not at all like the cookie-cutter rooms one finds in many hotels. The breakfast was ample and nicely presented.
The Palatinus Hotel is positioned (walking distance) near most of the tourist attractions in Pecs. When you step outside the hotel you find your sell on a street that has great restaurants, coffee shops, and bars, even the shopping mall Arkad is located nearby. The breakfast in the hotel is one of the best I have seen in a 3* hotel.
We liked the style of the hotel and the location with a very nice view of the city of Pecs both from our room and the hotel restaurant. Food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff very attentive and nice. What needs to be mentioned above all is all the gorgeous flowers and plants in the hotel.
A large, light room and a good breakfast, an excellent location at a very good price. It is an old fashioned hotel and the decor is a bit drab and not everything worked perfectly BUT I loved the retro wooden fittings, and it suited me very well. I would certainly stay again for the price.
It's in the centre of the Pecs. In walking distance of everything. It's next to Arkad. To Sinagogue and centre of the city you have few hundred meters.
There is a parking on spot, turn right after the hotel.
Breakfast is great.
Staff was great. They speak english.
Big recomendation.
Excellent little hotel with a cute esthetic, in the heart of the center of Pécs. Friendly staff and definitely value for money. It also has a nice little restaurant/ pizzeria with vegan options.
Overall a very fair and nice establishment
It is ideally situated for walks in the Mecsek hills, and the zoo. The neighbourhood is very quiet, and it was not possible to eat out in 2 nearby hotels so we went into Pecs centre for meals.
It is a nice little hotel, well furbished and stylish. Situated right in the heart of Pécs. All the main attractions and sights, museums and restaurants are within walking distance.
It was really nice and stylish hotel with spacious room. Great Hungarian breakfast.
Really pet and child friendly hotel, we received extra bed and baby bed without any problems.
