Ružomberok is an old industrial town in northern Slovakia (during communist times is was famous for the foul smell from its industries), and a place you still have to drive through because the expressway avoiding the city has not been opened yet...and during my visit this meant chaos with three hours waiting time because of another road reconstruction work... However, there are great possibilities for skiing close to the city and a pair of museums (but aside of that not too much to attract visitors)... The beer from its first micro-brewery, Ursus, is unfortunately also nothing to write home about.

We were going to ski. The snow was good . We were relatively lucky with the weather. The sloops were short for us but we enjoyed . The apartmant is 100 meters close to the lift. We didn't have time to see the city but nature was amazing.

I really enjoy Ruzomberok, been there twice now for sightseeing. It is a peaceful, quiet mountain town, supposedly offering all sorts of hiking and skiing opportunities. Not being a person who engages in those too much, the town is still an excellent place to relax and take your mind off of your everyday life.

The town centre is rather compact, the services and variaty of shops are slowly improving, shame not all the staff speak English and some are lacking manners especially restaurant at hotel Kultura - sorry to say this but the staff was a bit miserable! Some of the buildings need more work. The town has got a great potential but it is not utilised properly.
We stayed here (family of 4) after a visit to the local waterpark. The hotel is off the beaten track but with a car you can reach the local town within 10 minutes. Breakfast was very nice, the room was spacious and clean. For the price (incl. breakfast) the value for money was excellent. To access the hotel we needed the code for the key box, which was provided the day before. Very easy to operate with instructions in Slovak & English. Would stay again if in this part of the world.
It's a cheap 2* hotel without Breakfast option and you will get exactly what you pay for. Food in the restaurant was really good if you get regional specialities. Staff was really nice, except the restroom it was clean, there is a fridge you can use (in the apartment), parking spot was ready. Good options for hiking around, 2 bigger cities close-by for shopping (10 mins by car), nice castles around, calm village. Overall worth the money, as it is really cheap and old hotel.
Really good price-quality ratio on my opinion for an own room. Room was nice and common facilities also great (had sauna and swimming pool). Breakfast was also quite nice and staff nice and helpful (restaurant served also good lunch and dinner which was nice). Condition of the facilities was also good and everything was clean. Location ok (quite near the bike park and big supermarket also next to the hotel; train/bus station some time away though). Enjoyed my stay here.
I liked the atmosphere and the uniqueness of this hotel. Very cosy and quiet place. The staff was wonderful :) Albeit being couple of kilometres from the center, it was worth a walk. Surprising thing was a really good sauna (I'm a Finn :) )! Breakfast was really good. I was here during the beginning of summer and the weather was great so I don't know what it is like in the winter and during the skiing season. Slopes are close though. Worth the money. I recommend.
Everything was perfect.
Very helpful, nice staff. Quiet, cosy, clean place next to the mountains but not overcrowded with tourists.Big room with 2 separate bedrooms. You can have a walk to the lake and go to the mountains. You can also walk on feet (around 25 min) to the city centre (or take a bus, bus stop is close to the hotel). Perfect place to chill.
It's very close to the city center as well as to bus and train station.
If you are in Ruzomberok for hiking it's also quite close to the starting point of some hiking routes.
There is a smart TV in the room and you are provided with more than one towel.
Breakfast is fair enough, water, juice, coffe and other hot drinks are available all day.
This is really the perfect location for hiking and exploring Ruzomberok area. We sped there a few days with the kids and visited Vukolinec, Ruzomberok city center and Liptovska Mara. I definately will be back there with by MTB bike next time.
Veru pleasant staff, nice room, good kitchen with kettle and microoven. Great location near Tesco and rather close to Malinô brdo. Good breakfast for 5 eur. Nice and cozy restaurant. Reserved parking for hotel visitors.
