Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering two countries, Austria and Hungary, and centers around the beautiful Danube River. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy Most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with a UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself has a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.
Across the street, St. Martin’s Cathedral was the coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s specialty is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.
The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-colored buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.
Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower, whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.
The hill top and views of the Danube river ware amazing.
The hill top and views of the Danube river ware amazing. The down is small and perfect for people who enjoy walkable destinations. I definitely didn't like the food. We visited two restaurants but at both places it just wasn't cooked properly. That is not my experience in the neighboring Vienna.

Just spent a few days in Bratislava with some friends. The old town and Castle are easy to get around. We hired a bike and went across the river where you can cycle the Danube all the way to Germany if you choose. Food was lovely and all delicacies were covered. There are some fantastic shopping centers just off old town with all the brands you'd expect plus some Slovakian ones. Bratislava is definitely a must see.

A Memorable Journey in Bratislava: Embracing Culture and Spirituality
My first venture into Bratislava, Eastern Europe, as a woman of African descent, was met with both excitement and uncertainty. However, the city's warm hospitality exceeded my expectations, enveloping me in kindness throughout my stay.
Bratislava's old town, with its cobblestone streets and historic landmarks like the enchanting Blue Church, offered a captivating glimpse into the city's rich cultural heritage. Amidst this picturesque backdrop, MonDieu café became a cherished retreat, fostering moments of reflection and connection.
Exploring the city's vibrant culture, I was captivated by the soul-stirring melodies of folk music and the bustling atmosphere of outdoor grill places. Yet, it was the genuine warmth of the locals, from hotel staff to taxi drivers, that truly made Bratislava feel like home.
Despite the long train journey from Geneva, Switzerland, every moment in Bratislava was filled with wonder and delight. Moreover, my experience was deepened by attending the Festival ZIVOTA, led by Pastor Adeboye. His profound words and the collective worship experience reminded me of the universality of faith and the beauty of communal worship.
The Festival ZIVOTA not only enriched my spiritual journey but also served as a powerful reminder of the bonds shared among believers, transcending cultural differences. Bratislava's charm, coupled with the spiritual nourishment of the festival, left an enduring impression on my heart, making it a destination I wholeheartedly recommend.

I went to Bratislava for the food, and I was not disappointed.
Unfortunately I chose a holiday period, so many shops were closed and I couldn't stroll around if not for sightseeing, which is highly recommended, and food, again highly recommended.
The botanic garden, the Devin Castle, and the very small pharmacy museum, were the highlight of my experience, and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a relaxing time in a beautiful city.
Another suggestion is to buy the public transportation ticket for tourists, since it is the best way to move around.

We attended a performance at the Slovak National Theatre, leaving from Vienna and returning the next day. A quick mid-week trip and overnight.
First, the performance was top-notch and was a highlight. But we really appreciated the size of Bratislava. We walked and strolled everywhere, enjoyed some interesting shopping and had a wide choice of places to eat (including traditional Slovakian food, but also Mexican tapas or Thai food).
We've already done the basic bus tour, which is recommended. You see the town, hear a history, and visit the castle.
Our next trip will include some of the special events: particularly wine-tasting or beer-tasting.
Bratislava has a good mix of cultural options, interesting restaurants, and a beautiful downtown. Prices (compared to Vienna, for example) make this a bargain.
Really cosy room with a vibe that went with the whole hotel itself - artsy and very different compared to other hotels in Bratislava!
Cheap as well and conveniently next to the train station which, by the way, is not very loud despite being told so.
Walk to the old town square is only 15-20 minutes which saves greatly on public transport.
Staff were super friendly despite the language barrier but were very helpful showing me the facilities around the hotel.
Overall a satisfying, recommendable experience!
I spent two days in Bratislava and have decided to stay in Loft Hotel. It was a very good decision because this hotel has exceeded my expectations. The room was really spacious and stylish. Free minibar was really nice compliment. Also, it's essential to mention the breakfast - very good choice of dishes and drinks. The Hotel is placed at the center between the main station and old down. This fact makes my staying better as well because it was easy to go to Bratislavskiy Grad, old town etc.
Lots of room, had everything you would need for a longer stay, great location close to the old town centre, shops, the presidential palace and close to the UFO observation deck, good transport links for trips also outside of Bratislava e.g. Vienna or Brno. The apartments also have balconies with an ashtray so you don't have to go through the whole hotel just to smoke. We got an upgrade from a studio to a standard apartment and it was very roomy, lots of space and very comfy.
Beautiful hotel in the old town of Bratislava. Calm yet central street. Very friendly staff, the check in and checkout were fast and clear.
A room might be slightly outdated (like old telephone and slight ware out in bathroom) but it gives a charm vibe, beautiful decor. The bad and pillows were very comfortable. Nice lighting in the bathroom.
There is enough variety for breakfast, including champagne. The room was always well cleaned.
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It has an excellent location on danube river and where you can go to the old town within walking distance. Cleanliness was great. Staff was extremely helpful including their assigned taxi driver. The hotel comes with an indoor pool, sauna and a gym. Breakfast choice was vast and the restaurant cater for lactose and gluten free intolerances.
The location was great, lots of parking spaces nearby, grocery store is in front of the building and there is a 5 minute walk to the city centre.
We had a problem with our car and called the host, the problem was fixed within 1 hour on a Saturday morning. Without the help we would be stranded in Bratislava. Thank you very much for this.
Perfectly clean apartment. You'll find everything you need. Great bathroom, and comfortable bed. There is Bratislava Castle (the main capital attraction) 300m from the apartment + the city centre is nearby. The hosts were super-responsive and helpful. We got the free parking slot included in the price.
The room was spacious, cozy and clean. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The hotel itself is situated about 12-15 minutes on foot from the old town of Bratislava, with the castle and the UFO being only 10 minutes farther. There are also plenty of pubs, bars and stores within walking distance.
The hotel was lovely and the rooms were really clean. Decent sized room, massive bed and good shower. The hotel itself is about a 30 minute walk away from the old town however; there’s a shop and bar right outside and the walk gives u a change to see more of Bratislava. I’d 100% come back again
Very good location near old town, so everything reachable by foot. The receptionist was friendly, parking was secured (not that cheap), apartment was ok, cleaned and many cleaners if needed something.
We had breakfast and it was super, about 50 meters down the street in their hotel.
I liked my stay very much. The hotel is well located in the new office/shopping location in the centre of Bratislava. Old town and Donau is a 20 min walk from hotel. Good parking facilities on site, good sized room, very good reception and explanation, good breakfast.
The hotel is positioned just by the old town Bratislava, walking distance from all the major sites and pubs and restaurants. Clean and modern with a nice area to have a morning coffee. Also quite during the night so one can rest after walking around the city!
I would give it 5 stars. Of the 7 or 8 hotels we stayed at in Europe, Devin was the best. The breakfast was exceptional as was the staff. It is located right on the Danube a short walk to the old town. Bratislava is a hidden gem, clean and vibrant.
I have been visiting this beautiful Hotel for the Last 10 years, as I always say the Best Hotel in Bratislava.
Breakfast, Spa and Rooms are 5 Star. Location can't ask for more
Special thanks to all the staff very professional keep it up :)
The hotel is very beautiful with a very good restaurant for a really wonderful breakfast buffet (with champagne!)
The location on the river walk next to the Danube is a 15 walk to charming old town with many lovely restaurants and shops.
Modern and spacious Hotel Room centrally located with parking available. The staff… 5 stars. Alice at reception was incredibly helpful and gave some amazing restaurant recommendations.
Great location and smart rooms in a hotel with character located on one of the town passages in the old town in Bratislava. Nice simple continental breakfast. Friendly staff.
The location was perfect! Lots of coffee shops, restaurants, shopping mall nearby! The Danube was in the back of the hotel! Walking distance from the old town center!
