Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering two countries, Austria and Hungary, and centers around the beautiful Danube River. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy Most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with a UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself has a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.
Across the street, St. Martin’s Cathedral was the coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s specialty is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.
The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-colored buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.
Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower, whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.
Just spent a few days in Bratislava with some friends.
Just spent a few days in Bratislava with some friends. The old town and Castle are easy to get around. We hired a bike and went across the river where you can cycle the Danube all the way to Germany if you choose. Food was lovely and all delicacies were covered. There are some fantastic shopping centers just off old town with all the brands you'd expect plus some Slovakian ones. Bratislava is definitely a must see.

A Memorable Journey in Bratislava: Embracing Culture and Spirituality
My first venture into Bratislava, Eastern Europe, as a woman of African descent, was met with both excitement and uncertainty. However, the city's warm hospitality exceeded my expectations, enveloping me in kindness throughout my stay.
Bratislava's old town, with its cobblestone streets and historic landmarks like the enchanting Blue Church, offered a captivating glimpse into the city's rich cultural heritage. Amidst this picturesque backdrop, MonDieu café became a cherished retreat, fostering moments of reflection and connection.
Exploring the city's vibrant culture, I was captivated by the soul-stirring melodies of folk music and the bustling atmosphere of outdoor grill places. Yet, it was the genuine warmth of the locals, from hotel staff to taxi drivers, that truly made Bratislava feel like home.
Despite the long train journey from Geneva, Switzerland, every moment in Bratislava was filled with wonder and delight. Moreover, my experience was deepened by attending the Festival ZIVOTA, led by Pastor Adeboye. His profound words and the collective worship experience reminded me of the universality of faith and the beauty of communal worship.
The Festival ZIVOTA not only enriched my spiritual journey but also served as a powerful reminder of the bonds shared among believers, transcending cultural differences. Bratislava's charm, coupled with the spiritual nourishment of the festival, left an enduring impression on my heart, making it a destination I wholeheartedly recommend.

Bratislava is such a beautiful city, so much to see and do.
Bratislava is such a beautiful city, so much to see and do. We visited the transport museum, Bratislava castle, Blue Church, Botanical Gardens and many others. It is so easy to get around the city as transport is exceptional and inexpensive. Lots of bars and cafes offering everything you need or want. I loved it and would love to return

I went to Bratislava for the food, and I was not disappointed.
Unfortunately I chose a holiday period, so many shops were closed and I couldn't stroll around if not for sightseeing, which is highly recommended, and food, again highly recommended.
The botanic garden, the Devin Castle, and the very small pharmacy museum, were the highlight of my experience, and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a relaxing time in a beautiful city.
Another suggestion is to buy the public transportation ticket for tourists, since it is the best way to move around.

We attended a performance at the Slovak National Theatre, leaving from Vienna and returning the next day. A quick mid-week trip and overnight.
First, the performance was top-notch and was a highlight. But we really appreciated the size of Bratislava. We walked and strolled everywhere, enjoyed some interesting shopping and had a wide choice of places to eat (including traditional Slovakian food, but also Mexican tapas or Thai food).
We've already done the basic bus tour, which is recommended. You see the town, hear a history, and visit the castle.
Our next trip will include some of the special events: particularly wine-tasting or beer-tasting.
Bratislava has a good mix of cultural options, interesting restaurants, and a beautiful downtown. Prices (compared to Vienna, for example) make this a bargain.

Bratislava is a simple, clean and organized city.
Bratislava is a simple, clean and organized city. Ideal for the tourist that wants a nice and relaxed vacation, but also not a boring one. Prices are also reasonable as long as one avoids tourist traps.
I really enjoyed the location of the hotel, nice and central to Bratislava, with easy access to the old town and to the castle, along with this the rooms are very nice, spacious and comfy with a very nice bathroom. The staff as well were very helpful and friendly, the reception staff were great at helping me find my way about and answering questions, further to this the staff at the bar were a joy to talk to, polite and fun to interact with, and the food as well at the hotel was top notch.
Location for us was perfect. In the centre of the historical old town and a few seconds walk from the old town square. It is on quite a busy street and there is a little bit of noise from the local bars and restuarants in the evenings but it wasn't a problem for us and to be expected if staying in the heart of the tourist area. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. If we ever return to Bratislava we would definitely look to book the same accommodation again. 10/10
Hotel was at prime location, reaching out to the landmarks were at walking distance like Old town, Castle, Blue Church and so on. Room was well maintained, neat and tidy. Even though I never asked for cleaning my room, my room was kept clean on daily basis. Plus my things were intact and untouched. Staff did their job amazingly. Breakfast was wonderful and have many options fresh fruit, fruit juice, bread and many other items. Staff were friendly at breakfast session.
It is a hotel type of hostel, rooms were clean and cosy. Self check-in was really convenient and good instructions were sent beforehand. We did not see any personnel in the hostel during our stay but this was just fine for us. No social hostel environment so maybe would not recommend it to solo travelers but for our needs it was just perfect. Good location near old town but you have to climb up quite a long hill to get there. Quite affordable price for Bratislava.
The location of this apartment was perfect for exploring the Old Town of Bratislava. Getting there from the train station was easy. I arrived early in the day and the hosts gave me access to their storage locker where I kept my luggage until it was time to check in. The apartment is clean, well furnished, tastefully decorated and perfect for relaxing. I especially liked the swing chair on the balcony and the photos showing the renovation of the apartment.
The hotel is located near the city centre of Bratislava. The castle is situated in approx. 30 minutes on foot. The old town is in 30 minutes on foot as well. The hotel is a bit far away from bus/trolleybus stops.
The room was quiet, with a nice view from the balcony. Air conditioning functioned well, which was quite useful by the hot weather. The room and the bathroom were quite clean as well.
The breakfast was decent.
It’s an amazing hotel with friendly stuff. Rooms are clean everything was included.
In room were first aids coffee tea.
Location is perfect very close to old town.
I really recommend this hotel. If I had chance to go Bratislava I would choose this hotel.
Breakfast was tasty not so many choice but everything had good quality.
Stuff was friendly and speak English very well
Friendly staff, and a great view from my hotel room (River view), which overlooks the Dunaj, and the Bratislava UFO bridge. The location is very convenient with the castle being just a 15 minute walk away, and a tram stop on the main road outside the hotel. The hotel is on the edge of the old town, meaning that restaurants and bars are very close by.
the property was in a great location, short walk to the old town. the wine bar and burger beer bar were both really good with great staff! my room was also ready to check in which was great! The hotel offered a free mini bar which is almost unheard of now. Really this hotel
is top notch and amazingly priced!
The hotel was very conveniently located, in a nice neighbourhood (but still close to the bus station) and within walking distance of the old town.
The room was very clean, although quite small. Breakfast was good, staff was friendly. I would go back next time I am in Bratislava.
Nice View from our room (we could see St. Martens cathedral), the hotel is located perfectly only 5 walking minutes away from the old town/Bratislava centre.
The room was clean and breakfast was okay.
The hotel staff was friendly and check out is very conveniently at 12:00.
Good budget hotel in the very city center of Bratislava, right next to the Presidential Palace. Old town reachable in 5 min by foot. Breakfast is pretty basic but for 8.5 EUR is ok. Good parking nearby is available, 15 EUR, could be a bit cheaper for the hotel guests.
The Hotel is great, excellent location, easy access to all city sightseeings, easy walk to old town and castle, friendly staff, all areas of the hotel are spotlessly clean, breakfast is exceptional, the room is very comfortable and clean.
