The spa is great, but gets crowded on the weekends. Nice central location, but still quiet. Staff was polite and efficient. The food in the restaurant was tasty, but could have been more varied.

The place was absolutely perfect. It had everything that we needed and even more - I could park my car inside the yard. Location was near a pharmacy and restaurants and big supermarket.

It used to be a nice hotel.
The staff is nice and that’s about it.
There is no A/C and one can boil to death in the scorching heat.
The staff is nice though.
Wi fi is almost non existent so buy a local sim , they are very cheap. Overall , you get what you pay for.
On average, it costs $53 per night to book a 3-star hotel in Kyustendil for tonight. You'll pay around $87 if you choose to stay in a 4-star hotel tonight, while a 5-star hotel in Kyustendil will cost around $113, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
Kyustendil exceeded my expectations:
- it is not far away from Sofia;
- the road from Sofia to Kyustendil is unexpectedly good, even excellent;
- the center is big (for the town's dimensions), nice parks, wonderfully illuminated during the night;
- loved the pedestrian area, the bridges;
- unexpectedly good restaurants (Friends and Ramira), definitely recommend;
- the view from the ancient fortress (Hisarluka), which is 5 min by car above the town is wonderful;
- the gallery of Vladimir Dimitrov - Maystora is impressive;
- last but not least - very friendly drivers (something uncommon, but worth mentioning).

An absolute surprise!
An absolute surprise! Kyustendil is beautiful and enormously welcoming. The man in the Tourist Information Office was just lovely - as were the staff at the St George Monastery on the edge of town. And we even got to see a unique fire-theatre show in the town square ... Go there, people. The train journey from Sofia is beyond compare and we loved staying on the 11th floor of the Hotel Velbazhd with views across the entire valley. Lots of nice places to eat and drink on the main pedestrian street too. And all for the princely sum of 6.90BGN on BDZh from Sofia.

I enjoyed the calm atmosphere, the abundant green public space and the walkability of the town. Some neighbourhoods seem ill-maintained and abandoned but the place has kept a flavour of a traditional settlement of long history.

The Vladimir Dimitriov Art Museum is a must see for anyone...
The Vladimir Dimitriov Art Museum is a must see for anyone interested in Bulgarian art. The museum guide was most informative. The museum was the high point of our visit.
Otherwise the city is rather ordinary. The Natural History Museum, if you can find it, is very sad. Even without charge, it's not worth looking for...
I found most of the service people (Yettel store, Italian restaurant, grocery store, and people in general to be rather somewhere between not friendly to surly. I consoled myself with the thought that it was August and the friendly folks had left town for the beach or mountains leaving those behind depressed and unhappy.

Kyustendil is a sweet city near the North Macedonian border...
Kyustendil is a sweet city near the North Macedonian border in the Struma River Valley. Known for cherries, Kyustendil has numerous restaurants featuring local produce and traditional Bulgarian cuisine. There are numerous shops, and an outdoor bazaar featuring the bounty of the valley, honey and other artisan treasures. There are museums which are all free to the public on Thursdays, a theater and several historic churches. The central square has a lovely park for strolling. The city was prized by Romans for it's healing waters, and one can enjoy the baths, along with several full service spas.
We had a wonderful stay at Strimon! We booked an economy room which appeared to be quite spacious. Everything was sparkling clean and well maintained. Although you might consider the buffet small at first sight, there was diverse food for any taste, which was really well prepared and mouth-watering (kudos to the chefs). The SPA facilities were great, the hydromassage pool was our favorite. All the staff were super friendly.
We'd definitely plan a return visit and recommend the place to everyone ☺️
Всичко беше идеално. Everything was perfect! Comfortable mattress & pillow, quality linen, warm duvet, hot shower, nicely renovated bathroom… Hard to believe you’d find such a quiet little house, all to yourself, with a green meadow in front - right in the centre of a big town like Kyustendil. Can’t believe my luck! Any bookingcom user would be lucky to land this marvellous place. I am truly grateful!
It was not our first time staying in Tihiat But Complex. As the previous time, we loved how the whole complex is designed with each room having a different theme interior. We were excited to stay in a room we haven't stayed before. Our room was spacious and had a large balcony with a seating area where we took our breakfasts and coffee. All of the food we tried tasted local and delicious.
Breafast was ok, nothing special, the dinner is better. I have already been in this hotel, it is at footsteps of the mountain. It is very hot in the room. They are finally building covered pool inside. The outside one is rather small and there is no covered passage to approach it. Yet I used it and was great in wintertimes. In the early autum it was too populated with guests.
The stay was great. The location of the guest house in the center is excellent. The hosts were very nice and friendly. The room was warm, the Wi-Fi was perfect, the facilities of the room are new and clean and the bed was really comfortable for sleep. I recommend the Guest House to everyone who wants to visit Kyustendil.
Everything! Comfortable, cosy, lovely, spacious, nicely decorated, with great attention to the smallest details - the equipment included things far beyond the expected. There were even extra phone chargers and a baby thermometer! The host was extremely kind, the best place we've been so far (and we're regular travelers).
Strimon constantly have improved their facilities.Thermal wather reborns you. We really enjoy our time in this hotel. Staff is polite and they are always on your disposal, especially staff from SPA centre. The hotel is close to the center and close to the resturant Friends (one of the best in the region).

The hotel has a nice front yard, animals are very cute.
The rooms are clean.
Very good food!
Nice prices.
Staff is nice, except one waiter.
Location is okay, parking aside the street.
Interesting ambient.
Check in isnt too early!!
The hotel looks a bit old from the outside, but has a lot of flair. It's right in the centre of town next to the Roman baths. The owners are very kind and helpful, the Lady has good English. My room featured an convenient balcony.
Nothing. I have stayed in hotels all around the world from Six star to one star and this my far is the worse one I have every stayed in. The whole environment has the communist flavour to it.
The place was absolutely perfect. It had everything that we needed and even more - I could park my car inside the yard. Location was near a pharmacy and restaurants and big supermarket.
