We took the ride to a family member. This review is purely subjective and based on anecdotes. The place is wonderful. The staff is extremely friendly, there were situations when the help of staff with knowledge of the Bulgarian/Russian language was needed and all issues were resolved. There are no critical points, a clean pool, delicious food, a spa, excellent massage, and the opportunity to purchase the cosmetics you like. After the stories, my wife and I decided that on one of our vacations we would go there to evaluate the quality of the service ourselves. Thank you very much that everything went great and our family member was very impressed

Bansko is a good alternative for skiing when you cannot afford to go in the Alps .
Very good options for accommodation and for eating out in local restaurants.
You need to know that the ques for gondola in the morning can get pretty long and well exceed one hour wait.

Bansko is a city that captures the heart with its stunning...
Bansko is a city that captures the heart with its stunning beauty, effortlessly blending picturesque landscapes with the quaint charm of its streets. However, visitors should be wary of the numerous tourist traps that dot the city, often overshadowing its genuine offerings. Despite this, with a bit of diligence and local insight, one can uncover hidden gems like the small family-run 'mexana' we were fortunate to find. Serving homemade food with warmth and authenticity, it stood out as a beacon of traditional hospitality amidst a sea of commercialized eateries.
On the flip side, the popularity of Bansko's ski slopes comes with its own set of challenges, notably the excessive queues for the gondola lift, which can significantly dampen the skiing experience. Opting for a bus ride to the slopes proved to be a wise decision, bypassing the long wait and leading us directly to the well-maintained pistes. While Bansko offers much in terms of scenic beauty and skiing opportunities, visitors must navigate its less appealing aspects to fully enjoy what this charming city has to offer.

We didn`t know Bansko was so popular with the British 19/ 30 groups so when we arrived (09.00 o`clock in the eving we were shocked by noise and amount of drunken people in the streets and bars. I is like Benidorm in Spain. Bansko is to big for her wintersport facilities so the skilifts were totally overrrun and the lower pistes were way to busy. Up 3 hours waiting time on some days on the gondola. Prices for ski passes, equipment rental etc are really ok . Altough the pistes are nice they were way to busy. Food in restaurants and drinks are way overpriced.
2nd year in a row in this value for money hotel. Extremely Friendly staff. Preslava and Rosa at reception helped and guided us for everything we needed.
Excellent spa facilities. Milena and Gea provided super massages. The spa physiotherapist Pao was so helpful after a ski accident my wife had re what to do and hat to avoid and also provided amazing after ski massage.
Variety and quality of breakfast and dinner buffet were top! Different theme every night with the highlight being the Bulgarian night with live music and dancers.
Our rooms were big, clean, spacious. Enough hot room for all the people in the hotel. It was really, really hot in the rooms as the heating system was working on maximum. We had good time there. It is a bit far from the centre - 7-8 minutes by walk and the same distance to the Gondola but this was not an issue for us. Communication with the host was great and he answered all the questions we had.
One of the best value for money deals you could get in Bansko area.
The staff were really nice and helpful. The food from the menu was great, we tried the chicken soup, mushroom soup and trout and felt it was the best dinner we ate at Bansko, and all for a great price.
We especially want to point out Onur in the bar for his service and hospitality.
In addition the room we had was very large which gave us a lot of space, something you usually dont get in ski vacations.
Best thing about the hotel - the aqua park and the really good animator for kids which deletes any negative feelings. The safeguards are also very cautious and careful. The pools are clean. The hotel is getting old but the rooms are spacious. Not super clean but satisfactory. The food is good. The breakfast was good. Not 5 star but still good. The price was also very good for the total services.
Very clean throughout. Staff (Maria) were truly incredible, helping both in person and via booking messenger. Rooms were spacious and cleaned daily. The spa with sauna and steam rooms excellent for end of day after skiing. Surprised by how good this place was and location. Outstanding options for food (better to go to old town) and also incredible bakery a stones throw away.
No thrills Hotel that allows you to enjoy the slopes, only c. 10 minute walk to the ski lift. Really nice. Receptionist is wonderful particularly between hours of 8am - 8pm. Outside his hour the receptionist doesn't speak very good English but still helpful.
Spa facilities are amazing too great value for money.
The location of the hotel was very good. In the middle of the forest, far away from the noise which I liked very much. It is also very close to the Chalin Valog ski slope, which is great. One doesn't need to wait in queues for the cabin lift in Bansko.
The staff in the hotel was very nice and always helpful.
Very flexible and welcoming host.He offered free early check-in and late check out. In addition, the apartment offers use of all SPA facilities from the St.Ivan Rilski hotel and is part of the resort. Includes indoor and outdoor jacuzzi and swimming pool, with excellent temperature of the water.
The hotel was perfectly clean, warmed up and comfortable. The staff were friendly and the meals were abundant. I recommend staying in Grand Royale Apartment Complex & Spa. I also recommend booking your Spa procedures well in advance, as the therapists are pretty busy. :)
Best price to value hotel in the area. The staff is always friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious. Bed is comfortable. The spa is terrific and the massage was really relaxing. We go there all the time and once we picked a different hotel in Bansko and regretted it.
I came by the end of the season- people was great, service was super great and all asking from stuff was happily approved
Important to mention: Spa was one of the best I’ve ever been.
Definitely coming back to this hotel next time in Bansko.
Love!
Or Layzer.
Very Close to the ski road/gondola (absolutely brilliant so you won't have to go with car or anything, you just go across the main road near the hotel and put your skis/board and on to the gondola ), Spa, Room, Pool, Parking.
great brekfast and diner, spa was nice, room was big, with nice mountain and gondola view, location was not too far from gondola, there was transport evry 15min to and from gondola, ski rent in the hotel, staff is frendly.
prob the best hotel in Bansko, very close to the Gondola lift, great staff, very good spa. Perfect, helpful ski in out. Thanks to the best snowboard coach Jon and he is whole team. The ski Gondola shuttle was also perfect.
Located near the Gondola and the city center. Everything is within walking distance, restaurants and ski renting are nearby!
The hotel is very clean, the spa and saunas were great.
The staff is welcoming!
The location is right behind the ski lift. I was highly pleased with the breakfast and the heated outdoor swimming pool. The hotel has that ‘grand’ feeling the moment you step though the entrance.
Good VFM hotel with kind staff and nice rooms. Spa was good and if you get in mid-week early afternoon it is not busy - great after a day skiing. Free parking good.
It is a decent hotel in a quiet area. The food was very good. The transfer from the hotel to the ski resort was very reliable. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
