It was a beautiful historical property. The baseboards, mouldings and doors are stunning. The location is great and it was very quiet at night. It is a smaller hotel so there is not a lot of movement in the corridors. Our room was clean.

    We had a nice visit!

We had a nice visit! Although the parking is a little weird at the hotel, but we were fine. Also since our visit was during Summer, the AC was not enough for the whole place. However, we were gone most of the day, so we survived! We will definitely come back at Sleeping giant BNB for accommodation. Kalabeka Falls and Fort William Historical Park are a few of our favorites! Also the Thunder Bay Lookout at Sleeping Giant Natl Park. :) Mount McKay is also a nice place yo visit! :)

Thunder Bay is close to Sleeping Giant Provincial Park—about an hour’s drive—which is a phenomenal place for hiking at all levels. It’s an easy trip back and forth, and the primary reason I visited Thunder Bay (there are no hotels near the park). I didn’t explore the city-proper very much. It’s easy to drive around. Also seems to have a robust bus system that no one uses! There’s a downtown area with many restaurants and bars, but it wasn’t very busy, even on a weekend night. Best place I ate was a Thai restaurant, Thai Kitchen (11 Cumberland Street), which was excellent.

There aren’t enough hotels and the ones they have that are good book up quickly. The ones left aren’t worth staying in, but it’s too late to get to another town once you realize it. Plan ahead and book early is my advice.

My reason for staying there was STRICTLY medical, not pleasure. I travelled over two thousand miles to get the medical help I needed, because of the FAILURE of the CORPORATE medical mafia (YES, the medical system is the upgraded mafia system) establishment wants to TREAT people but NEVER CURE people as there is no money in "curing" people. They are the LEGAL DRUG DEALERS WITH LICENSE, WITH HORRIFIC SIDE EFFECTS OF THEIR DRUGS. I KNOW, I AM ONE OF THE VICTIMS OF THEIR GREED. For the medical reason, hot tub was a crucial part of my trip and you ALSO failed to tell me that the hot tub was there for the show not for the go. For the proper health benefit, hot tub AND swimming pool go hand in hand! THIS IS FUNDAMENTAL HEALTH CARE!

We went for a family wedding, but should have went earlier to see the sights. We stayed at the Harbour Front and it was gorgeous. Beautiful weather, Lake Superior ! But like every where else, short staffed. Stayed at Delta Marriot, brand new hotel, but restaurant closed for breakfast as no staff. No bar. No snack counter. Starbucks closed at 11am on Saturday and Sunday !!!!! the young people working there were very helpful.

The location was on the shore of Lake Superior and our room had a beautiful view of the yacht club, lake and islands. The waterfront has been very nicely developed and there are many restaurants and other attractions within close walking distance of the hotel. As it was incredibly hot outside during our stay, it was nice to have the option of parking underground, although the parking is quite limited there. Request underground parking in advance if you think it is something you would like. The fitness facility is very well equipped.

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times on our way through Thunder Bay. It has never disappointed. The last couple of times we have booked a king suite and have found it to be very spacious and comfortable. When we stay here we order a takeout dinner from The Five Forks restaurant next door which is so handy and has many delicious options. There is a lot of choice for the breakfast at the hotel and the friendly, helpful person who works in the breakfast area keeps it spotless!

My only suggestion is to have the breakfast available at 6 am as we needed to get on the road very early - and waiting for breakfast at 7 wasn't possible. So...we never got to enjoy the breakfast and this was clearly part of the price of the room. Loved the boutique style rooms - and the location - especially for the dog. I liked there were stairs so I didn't have to take the dog on an elevator. I liked that it was different than most hotels.

Beautiful clean hostel, it felt very homely and loved. We arrived super late as we were on a long drive through Ontario, but our room was cozy and they left little chocolates and info about the hostel in our room. The bed was super comfy. We didn’t wake up on time for breakfast but one of the team put a pot of coffee on for us in the morning when we did wake up.

I didn't like the area. Constantly being begged on. Parking a real issue. Construction had all the streets closed. Apartment was bare bones. Bathroom bare bones. TP holder gone. One very small window, no A/C. I do feel I got what I paid for. It was cheap, but not enjoyable. Another older couple had a very hard time with the stairs and the accommodations.

Such a nice place with such nice people! Aesthetics make you enjoy every minute of it and stuff makes you feel safe. I think booking doesn’t mention but you do have a small but lovely breakfast there. It was simply enjoyable and I had the best experience I could even imagine in The Haven Hostel, Thunder Bay!

Dog friendly! We stayed here 2 nights in a span of 2 weeks. We didn’t stay long at the hotel (arrived late and left very early). We drove from Toronto and this was a nice rest stop after a 15hr drive. Felt very safe, properly is clean and newly renovated. There are cheaper hotels but this place is worth it!

The room we had was spacious and both smelled and looked clean. Clearly everything had been washed and sanitized. The hotel had a kind of older antique-type vibe which we enjoyed. We also had a great view of the harbour and lake. The front staff were super friendly and accommodating to us and our pet cat.

The only good thing about this hotel was the staff, when I went back up to the front desk she was understanding and helpful when I let her know that my room was awful and I couldn't stay there for the safety of myself and daughter. She immediately refunded me and apologized.
