Le Chateau de Pierre, hotel in Quebec City

In the heart of Old Quebec, Le Château de Pierre welcomes you to the heart of its heritage history while offering you contemporary comfort.

Absolutely loved the location, it’s very close to all the the attractions in the old city and wonderful eateries. The view from my room on the 3rd floor was mesmerising. The hotel did not really have people at reception desk and I was supposed to self-check in which made me skeptical, but the staff managed expectation so well, they informed about not having an elevator and gave me choice to pick the floor I wanted my room in, they communicated the process ahead of time, and whenever I needed them I just texted and they responded under a minute, so it didn’t feel like I was on my own. The toiletries, coffee machine and cleanliness level were very nice. I could leave my luggage safely in the kitchen since I arrived early and checked out early for sightseeing.

We took various tours and they were all wonderful. The people are friendly and every meal we had was amazing. The topography took some getting used to, but it made for beautiful views. The Alphonse restaurant is so good we went three times. The night-time ghost tour was fun and the tour to Montmorency Falls, etc., was a highlight. Sadly, the tours of the Morrin Centre weren’t available the days we were there, but the library is worth the cost of a day ticket (especially for fans of murder mysteries)!

The half day Montmorency Falls along with village and copper art tour was very good. Citadel is worth visiting and look for the guided tour (included in entry ticket). The area around the old city is very beautiful, The view of St, Laurence River from the deck in front of Fairmont De Chateu Fonteneck is beautiful, The restaurants are superb. It is good place to relaxer and spend some time. Whale watching and River cruises are only available from Mid May until October, Hence check the availability before planning your trip. Horse cart ride is useless.

Lots to explore people friendly and patient with us fools who did not continue our French after college. Food and servers very good-you won’t leave hungry. Very walkable felt safe in areas around the hotel. Lots of smiling faces. Be kind to your servers and tip as though you are at home. The exchange rate is not equal and it doesn’t hurt to e a little more generous. It is really being kind to our northern neighbors.

Quebec is the most beautiful city in North America, in my opinion. The older part is compact, and pedestrian-friendly. I suggest planning to park your vehicle on arrival, and walk! I was pleased to see that Quebec has improved the riverside expressway connecting the bridges over the St. Lawrence to downtown, and has added miles of riverside parks, bikeways, bus transit stations, and public artwork along the way. My only disappointment is that the Museum of Fine Arts has been largely closed for renovation of the main galleries.

Old Quebec is amazing to drive around.

Old Quebec is amazing to drive around. Good restaurant where I had breakfast- Le Casse-Crepe Breton. Such a good restaurant. Montmorency fall is the one to must go in summertime. Its lot of walks but nature around keeps engaging. Plains of Abraham is kind a park to enjoy in summer. Other than that, there are lot of old monuments and buildings to sight. Best time to visit Quebec is definitely summer.

Best Western provides all what you need, room are clean and beds are comforfy. It is 15 mins walk to Old Quebec City. Very convenient, breakfast is very nice, it is at downstairs restaurant. Breakfast is not free, but it is good quality restaurant and price is reasonable. We love our hearty breakfast at hotel, then walk to the Old Quebec City, have coffee and French bakery. Then nice dinner at old city too. Then stroll back to hotel. Highly recommend this hotel. Price is reasonable considering the location and services you are getting.

We booked this hotel mainly for the location. It was near where our cruise ship docked and also near lower Old Town Quebec. Our room had a kitchenette and was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The front desk staff were excellent. We arrived before check in and asked to have our luggage held. Our luggage was waiting in our rooms when we checked in later. The staff were helpful with maps, taxis, and restaurant suggestions. The restaurant Louis in the hotel serves a delightful French breakfast which we reserved for the next morning.

Location was perfect right on the edge of old town, were able to walk everywhere and safe at night. Would definitely stay there again.

The room was downstairs with a window onto a small courtyard. Ver quite. Location is PERFECT. On the edge of Old Town so an easy stroll to everything. Much better than closer to Chateau Frontenac where all the tourist busses are.
