Our stay was far too short to enable us to see much of the area. However, what we noticed as we drove in was the cleanliness and pride of ownership. Our choice to stay at Bruin Oceane was well rewarded. The proprieter, accomodations and breakfast were phenomenal. We had dinner at The Bunker. The service and food were very good and the sunset over the water was spectacular.

A beautiful place, right by the beach, people are friendly.
A beautiful place, right by the beach, people are friendly. The restaurants are very good. The sunset viewed on the bench swings facing the water is a dream everyone should experience at least once in a lifetime! The best seafood restaurant is a little place that opened a few months ago and it is called Le Bistro du Capitaine. I would highly recommend it. Getting around is a breeze :)

Our room was located close to a little terrace with chairs & tables where we were able to eat sheltered from the wind. The location was a short drive away from Matane’s lighthouse and downtown, which was fun to visit. The room had an old motel charm, but don’t expect anything fancy or modern!

The pool is small but nice. The hot tub has a view over the seafront too, as does the sauna. Outdoor pool wasn't open yet when I was there but looked nice. Hotel is walking distance from the centre of Matane.

The room was clean and well organized! A super positive point is that they accept pets ($25 extra). This is always important to me because I find it very difficult to travel with my dog.
