We chose this property because it was in the mountains, away from the city. We came in May as part of our drive through to Banff, so we weren’t there to ski. We arrived after 6pm, so it was self-checkin; no one around.

Golden is a nice location actually.
Golden is a nice location actually. I generally stay in Radium but do feel that a few days in the Golden region would be nice -- lots of attractions to keep one busy thats for sure. They also have an amazing Mexican food restaurant.

A good location to stop if travelling across the mountains.
A good location to stop if travelling across the mountains. Close to several ski and mountain activies, with a wide range of wildlife in the area. The town itself has several amenities ranging from restaurants to supermakets (though if you go into the shop Save on Foods, make sure you get the code from the tubs with loose food before heading up to the checkout), with the river running alongside it. Petrol station, though doesn't sell diesel.

The Northern Lights Wolf centre and the Buffalo ranch were the two highlights of the tour, really amazing to experience these creatures so close but with great conservation efforts being made by both organizations.
The town of Golden was small but cute, probably a great spot for the ski season.

We booked this hotel/lodge because we were coming from Jasper and the following day, we are headed to Banff. Its quite secluded and there is no food to buy around the area. But the room has all the amenities needed. Very nice bathroom, dining room, and bedroom. The view from our room is mountain. There's a free parking at the basement, just inform the front desk. We were able to visit Emerald Lake and Natural bridge from this hotel and an hr away from Lake Louise Summer Gondola... This place is very good place for skiing

The town of Golden is a beautiful place to visit.
The town of Golden is a beautiful place to visit. Nice stop on your travels from Alberta to B.C. destinations. Would recommend staying in one of the many CHAIN HOTELS. Also book your accommodations early, as hotels do book up quickly in this area.
stunning, spacious, chalet with excellent facilities including a fabulous bbq in the balcony. nothing has been overlooked in providing a great outfit including a huge fridge and freezer for all the supplies you need. pristine cleanliness on arrival. after a great day in the mountains, you can't beat sitting in a hot tub looking out over beautiful scenery. Golden is an outdoor playground with access to days upon days of fun and this chalet complex just outside town is the perfect finishing touch to the experience.
The accommodation at Winston Lodge was great and our host Tom was awesome during our stay, he has a vast knowledge of the area that he shared with us like places to visit and see around Golden BC. Tom treated us like family from when we arrived all the way until we left. He had gone above and beyond our expectations with helping us in a variety ways. We will be keeping in touch with Tom and have gained a new friend.
Highly recommended!
The location is the best feature of this property both near to the pedestrian overpass over the Kicking Horse River to access Golden as well on the right side of town to more easily access the bike trails on the opposite side of the Columbia River. Although the facility is not new nor luxurious, it provides all the basics you need in a very acceptable package. The staff were quite helpful. Plenty of parking spaces.
Everything. It’s a quiet and cozy house nestled in the midst of the mountain range near Golden. It’s warm and nice and homey. The staff is beyond helpful and should be in itself one of the reasons that you come here.
We took advantage of the peace and quiet and the not so nice weather of our day here, and stayed reading and enjoying the beautiful place.
Breakfast is the worst I’ve ever been in a hotel , I was expecting a proper food but there’s only cereal and 2 small muffins and we are 5 persons didn’t even offer to get more. The receptionist is not presentable wearing shorts and tank top no dentures and just overall unpleasant. Not recommended at all!!!!!! Not worth the money
Staff was very friendly. Requested hair dryer and the staff brought it right away to the suite. Place is comfy and clean. It is very peaceful and quiet. Location is close to central town of Golden. You can walk to places of food like Tim Hortons, restaurants along the river. I had a very restful time at the place.
Golden is an older town and the property showed its age. The rooms had air conditioning and were comfortable but the property does need some work. The breakfast was nice and had lots of option which was great. The pool was fabulous with a waterslide and a hot tub.
excellent location, with balcony, great view and quiet area. very comfortable room as well.
parking available either in front of the hotel or in the garage against extra payment. would definitely stay there again a next time.
I stayed until 7 am in a rest area on a closed road. So I was not able to fully use all the hotel services. But I was allowed to check out an hour later than usual, for which I am grateful to the hotel staff.
