Fernie has made a successful transition from a mining town to a destination outdoor recreation center (biking, skiing, climbing, fishing, etc.). Its historic main street has a good variety of small, locally owned businesses with good food and drink, sports shops, and general retail. The people are friendly and very helpful.

We loved the whole experience.
We loved the whole experience. The skiing, of course, is always fantastic, but so was Griz Days (the whole town gets involved). We also attended a sold out Ghostriders playoff game that was really electric and enjoyed some of Fernie's food/restaurant offerings that really compete with the calibre you'd get in any large city.

Fernie has great and plenty of accommodations but with many many construction workers and it being summer I would highly recommend booking far in advance of your stay. The Hostel is rough and the basic of amenities in the room. Take your own towels. Sounds outrageous but we weren't offered towels, what services were available, or offered anything other than the room at check in. I have stayed in hostels that were quite comfortable but I would never recommend the Raging Elk to anyone. There were no rooms available except this place . We had business in Fernie otherwise we would have carried on to Cranbrook.

Fernie is a great little town.
Fernie is a great little town. I liked the shops as they were unique and offered different options. Also liked buying items that were made locally. The mountain view was amazing, loved how the mountains surrounded the town. The bagel shop food was great. I loved the chocolate shop as the chocolate was made locally which is why I made a purchase there. Some of the clothing in stores were very pricey, seemed to be good quality though. Very friendly service experience everywhere I shopped.

We loved this town!
We loved this town! Like Telluride without the pretense and movie stars. And way more affordable! Snow Valley Lodge is amazing with great rooms and tiny houses too... although they were booked. I forgot an item and they saved it for me.
Friendly and beautiful town! And the beer is really good too!
The ski in ski out of the hotel. The jacuzzi area was well maintained and we were able to enjoy them every day after skiing to relax. We used the lobby area for a friendly dinner and it was clean, big enough for 22 people and the bbq was handy right outside.
The ski service and store located in the hotel were awesome, provided service for our skies overnight, well priced, and high quality.
In the room, the kitchen was all equipped so it was easy for us to prepare breakfast and dinner.
Staff was very helpful and professional. Covid protocol is observed.
My room was large, very comfortable, clean, quiet and well equipped.. There's even a balcony. Breakfast is Covid-safe continental style; seating is ample but I chose to eat in my room.
I booked room online when I decided I couldnt drive any further. I checked in late and left early so I didnt use any other facilities..
Next time I'm through Fernie, I will definitely stay here.
The unit was absolutely spotless, the kitchen included everything we needed to cook our meals, the beds were comfy, the shower had great pressure and was hot! Being able to sit out on the balcony after a hike was lovely and the smart tv in the loft was a nice touch. We were impressed by how quiet the complex was. Central location to everything going on in Fernie - food, hikes and shopping!
Stopping here for the second time (and will definitely come again).
Great apartment, plenty of space, comfy beds with a variety of pillows, kitchen is very well equipped.
Quiet location at the river bank, couple minutes walk to the beach (mostly rocks but some sand as well), close to Lazy Lizard / P9 trailheads, just a few minutes drive to the Fernie Alpine Resort or to the city.
Great spot in the Fernie area. Right at the base of the mountain. We were there in summer and you can catch the chair lift up for mountain biking right outside your door. Comfy bed and full kitchen which is a nice thing to have. Host accommodated our request for an early check in which was nice.
For an aging hotel, my room was exceptional. The room was clean, quiet, and well maintained. Easily accessed from the main through fare, and the staff is very accommodating and extremely pleasant.
Location is good near the ski hill and not too far from town. Bed was comfortable. Hotel is attempting to be eco friendly with no plastics, etc. Hot tub area looked nice but busy.
Hotel is comfortable and conveniently located passing through Fernie, but is getting a bit dated. Big pool in the atrium is a nice feature, especially when travelling with kids.
