We stayed in Courtenay to try to go skiing, but unfortunately, this winter has almost no snow, but that's ok, it was our first time in town and it was nice, we had great food at Local and The Hen and Hog Cafe, I definitely recommend those two places.

With a stroll through the river area I again appreciated all the hard work of citizens determined to prevent flooding and also warning about personal safety near the water and on the bridge. The variety of shops is interesting. This trip we walked the river trail to the viewpoint to appreciate the Courtenay River joining the ocean. There are plenty of coffee shops, a brewery and bakery and great ethnic preferences for dinner dining. I always enjoy our visits.

The area is billed Courtney/ Comox and it was the comox area that was most inviting. Scenery, restaurants etc. Locals Restaurant was probably one of the best restaurants and value we’ve been to in a long time.

This was a repeat visit for us. The hotel did not disappoint. The staff were terrific, the room was clean and the location was excellent, with easy access to the town’s lovely river walk. We booked a king suite in the riverside wing and will do so again next time. Don’t miss the on-site restaurant Locals. It’s one of the best in town.

Outstanding front desk staff! After a long day of kayaking and travel, we were greeted by a warm, welcoming, and professional front desk staff member - really a standout professional who went above and beyond! The modern room offered great comfort and amenities. The included breakfast was awesome. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Proper breakfast in Covid times is a luxury, and they provide it! Real hot breakfast in a breakfast room (or you can take it to your room and eat it there). Also, unlike most hotels, they still do housekeeping. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. Some single-use plates and cutlery also provided, which is nice.

Breakfast was satisfactory but the restriction on the quantity and selection was disappointing. Since the Ad stated free Breakfast I expected the usual but a ticket with a measly $7 value on the menu is not free breakfast and the single portion of their choosing is not what I have been accustomed to at other hotels.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Gave excellent recommendations for places to see. Hotel room and facilities are clean and the breakfast was much better than expected. Pool is small and could get crowded at times but the waterslide was so much fun. Bonus: all the cute bunnies near the property.

Nothing. The property was a 'flop house' ran by a housing organisation and hadn't been used as a hotel for about 2 years. Disgraceful that this property is still being advertised on Booking.com. Even more so, allowing us to pay for it and getting a confirmation and PIN number. Shame on you!!

It was decently clean for how sketchy the property was. You could tell there were a lot of interesting people Staying at this hotel. However, I know what I paid for so overall it wasn’t bad. If you are looking for “luxury” this hotel is not it.

Updated, clean and great place to stay in Central Courtenay. Bed is firm, but comfy. Like many older motels, the sound of noisy guests was an issue. I’m’m sure mgmt was prepared to address it if I’d brought it to their attention.

The Super 8 in Courtenay met our expectations and the bonus was how quiet and clean the room was. The only glitch for me was the pillows being too soft as I prefer ones that are more firm for my neck.
