Janske Lazne is a ski resort which is not very suitable for beginners, in the sense that there are relatively few blue slopes. They do have beginner area's, but they are not in the main area, 5 minutes by bus away from the Gondola. The Gondola only takes 7 minutes and you have a nice 10-15 minute downhill (skiing average). Friendly people and good restaurants on the slopes. The number of restaurants in the village itself is limited. But overall a good and cheaper option than the Alps.IreneNetherlands - 10Scored 10

Janské Lásně seems to be ok for skiing trips as you have a variety of possibility for skiing (Cerna Hora, Ped pod Snezkou, Mala Upa) - at least reachable by ski bus. We were there for hiking in winter time, so we cannot judge the ski conditions. There is no shopping possibilities in the location but 1 Intersport, the party mood on Silvester was quite small.

If there is cake left after breakfast the hosts usually left it in common areas for the guests. The Penzion is literarilly between 2 skilifts: one for children and beginners and the other taking you to the main ski area.

You can ski down almost to the property (50-100m), or directly to the doors, if you have old enough skis that are not afraid of some asphalt ;) Room is great for the price, everything you need for the stay. At the beginng transfer to the ski arena seems to be a chalange, but owner is very helpful. Morning trips by Hagglund are something memorable, especially for kids. Morning coffee with amazing view and sunrise is really amazing!
