A city on the move, Warsaw is constantly changing in an effort to rebuild what was lost during World War II. There’s no better example of this than the stunning Old Town Square, where pastel facades sit alongside dome-topped spires.
Starting here is the Royal Route which passes several historic buildings on its way out to Wilanów, where an ornate Royal Palace is set in a huge park that was the retreat of kings since the 17th century. Just as grandiose is the Palace of Culture and Science, Stalin’s gift to Warsaw that still manages to evoke feelings of hatred and love in equal measure. Go up to the terrace for panoramic city views.
Other cultural features are the Warsaw Uprising Museum, considered the best museum in Poland, and traditional bars that still serve down-to-earth food washed down with a shot of vodka - a throwback to the Communist era. Don’t expect to find a seat though – there aren’t any.
Warsaw also has a thriving club scene and more shopping centers than you could throw a stick at. Not that you’d want to, as you’ll be too busy picking up the bargains.
Just outside the city is Warsaw Airport, efficiently linked by public transport to the city’s hotels, guest houses and hostels, available on Booking.com.
Warsaw is very clean & felt very safe. There were a lot of very good museums, we visited The Polin Museum, The Cold War Museum & The Warsaw Uprising Museum, all excellent.
We also enjoyed the parks where the trees were just starting to blossom. There is a lack of atmosphere due to the city having been rebuilt & restored but you can understand why.
We found good reasonable restaurants & tried as many different Polish dishes as we could. Not enough fruit & vegetables on menus though.
The hotel was a bit of a shock. very stark & utilitarian, like Lego blocks fitted together, I hadn't appreciated that it was more budget than others I've stayed in. It felt like a hostel. Having said that breakfast was perfectly adequate & plenty of it.
We also went to a Chopin concert which was wonderful.
Overall a great trip.

Warsaw has a never-ending offering of things to see and do.
Warsaw has a never-ending offering of things to see and do. This is but one of many trips we've taken to Warsaw and will not be our last. Take the time to do your research and you can find amazing things that the typical tourist doesn't get to experience. Also make sure to double check your visit against the City's schedule of events so that you can take part in something unique or plan your trip to avoid traffic and large crowds, whatever your cup of tea is.

I love Warsaw, been many times since 1991 so seen a lot of changes. Great nightlife, culture, shopping, and wide streets. Street cafes and restaurants to watch the world go by. One of the best thing about Warsaw is the transport system, always on time, regular services and very reasonably priced. We dispensed with a car quite a few years ago and haven't found anywhere that that we can't get to on bus, tram, metro or train and no need to worry about finding somewhere to park or impatient drivers 😉. Loved it so much that we bought an apartment on NowySwiat in 2004, sadly sold it now and look forward to exploring more of Poland in the next few years.

Warsaw impressed me - a great selection of eateries.
Warsaw impressed me - a great selection of eateries. Impressive modern and old buildings in the centre. Lots of lovely parks. A reliable and cheap integrated transport service. Increasingly multi-cultural, with many foreign faces visiting and/or living in the capital. It is a bit of a lottery whether shopkeepers and railway ticket office staff are friendly or off-hand; but either way, it is manageable. Old town is great.

I loved walking around Old Town and New Town.
I loved walking around Old Town and New Town. The Polish people I've met have some kind of dry humor, but I loved it! They were very warm and friendly. I loved that it's not too busy, too. Just the right amount of travelers when I visited. I definitely loved the food too! I would recommend Warsaw especially for those who do not like a very busy town/city. Just walking around, and enjoying meeting new people, and trying out the best of their food!

Music clubs (SPATIF Wednesdays, Sklad Butelek Thursdays), Praga-walking until Centrum Praskie Koneser, Contemporary art exhibitions in Zacheta – National Gallery of Art, Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Modern Art, Archdiocese Museum, Royal Castle.
The property was really clean and very well kept...the room was like new...everything you would need from a big chain hotel. Service was efficient and very friendly.. Great breakfast in a morning and located only ten minutes from the old town. Taxis are very cheap so was quicker and easier to use than public transport. Located a little out of the centre of Warsaw from a tourist point of view but using Grab you were anywhere you needed to be in 10 minutes. Only 15 minutes away from Chopin airport with taxis very affordable.
We had a short stay at InterContinental nad it was absolutely above any expectations. We've experienced different 5 star hotels in our life, since we travel quite a lot, but InterContinental is really one among lots of others where we'd really stay once again (which we'll do for certain).
Just some of the pluses:
- Wonderful view from high floor room
- Swimming pool with the best view in Warsaw
- Amazing dinner and breakfast (with live musical accomplishment)
- Service is above expectations
Mecure hotel is the No1 in my heart from 8yeats ago when I first time lived in this hotel. So whenever I went to any other city in Poland, my first choice is mecure hotel. This hotel is located at center of warsaw, very convenient and outside looks grand. And equipment from hotel is completely satisfied by the need of clients. Only the internet connection is not good. And the room is bit cold because the client can not change the temperature of air conditioner.
This hotel certainly makes an impression on you from the moment you approach the main gate.
Step inside and you enter a world which can be descriped only as "Modern Royalty". And all that in the middle of Warsaw's Old Town! The property and rooms are beautiful and the staff is very friendly and accomodating (they even gave me an upgrade). The breakfast in the morning was supurb. I definitely recommend this place and will be back.
Perfect location, 10 minutes walking to every Warsaw attraction: Palac Kultury, The Presidents residence, the Old Town, Centrum Nauki Kopernik, the University's lybrary and many others. Quiet place, it was always possible to find a parking place nearby despite the fact it is the very heart of the city. The host is extremely nice and helpful. On the ground floor there's the best Polish cousine restarant.
Perfect service for a reasonable price. Taxi service to the airport is for free! I asked about late check-out, it also was for free! And I forgot to take the invoice for my company from the reception, it was sent to my email right after I sent a message to the hotel staff. I am very satisfied! Definitely will stay only in this hotel in Warsaw.
It’s a really nice place right in the heart of the Old Town. Everything was clean and new and lovely. Although there is no reception, we had no problem getting around and someone from the hotel was always available by text and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay and will be definitely choosing this place if we ever happen to be in Warsaw again.
Excellent location for public transport and taxis. Adequate eating establishments not far from hotel. Great shower in room. Lovely views over city. Room cleaned and new towels every day. A good hotel for exploring Warsaw especially if you have no car. Bus stops either side of hotel, and proper taxis are inexpensive 17 zlt to Old Town.
We've stayed with PURO Hotels several times in other cities now and love the overall styling and attention to detail throughout the rooms and hotel in general. Super comfy bed, amazing shower and toiletries. Location is ideal for wandering into the Old Town and within walking distance of some of Warsaw's best areas for food and drink.
I had great time there, The stuff was amazing, they upgraded my room as there was availability and also when i requested for late check in, they did their best to accomodate my request. The hotel was just perfect. Definitely i recommend it and if i visit Poland again, i will definitely stay in this hotel!
We stayed at this place many times during our trip to Poland and we will come back there again. Perfect location, super clean and modern with all what you need to stay in Warsaw to explore Old Town and nearby tourist attractions. Host was always very helpful. Thank you.
The loacton in the old town and the classic syle of the hotel is excellent for those whou prefer the old world charm. Outside of the old town (which was completey re-built of after the WWII from ruinds) Warsaw feels a rather inpersonal metropolis.
The location in the old town was great and the rooms for a classic double were big and airy. The pool area was relaxing and complimentary water bottles a nice touch. A quiet hotel which suited our needs… not sure facilities warranted 5 stars.
Hotel is very centrally located in Warsaw. It is very convenient to reach the old town as well as centrally-located shopping areas. Though, sometimes it is problematic to find car parking place on the street. The breakfast was very good.
Good and cozy hotel. Excellent for the business trip.
Best location, nice breakfast, cozy room.
This part of the Warsaw city is quite noisy, but in the room I didn't hear the noisy from the street. Good staff.
Everything was fine. The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was slightly better than what one would expect. The pizza at the restaurant was sublime, one of the best I've had in Poland.
excellent Breakfast, Taxi service via Hotel is much better as Taxi in city center Warsaw,
its not a classic "Airport Hotel" but still near to Airport - and also to City Center
MDM hotel has great location - close to city centre and the old town. The hotel is fine in general. It has spacious rooms, it's clean, the staff is nice, rooms are quiet.
I went to this hotel for the 6th time. get service, the location is a winner! every one at the hotel actually speak English (not a common thing in Poland).
