Featuring an outdoor pool and children’s play area, Camping Ruta del Purche is set by Sierra Nevada National Park and a 20-minute drive from central Granada. Heated bungalows have private bathrooms.
Rincón de María José is located in Monachil, just 5.3 miles from Granada Science Park and 6 miles from San Juan de Dios Museum. With garden views, this accommodation features a patio.
The scenery is great, the city is nice. Parking is , if you see a spot it's yours. Did not expect on Sunday that no restaurants were open for breakfast around where the rental was. Recommend to do a little bit more research which was my fault but I don't rent too many places for certain events . Overall a great experience in Monachil.

The hotel is in a great location for the gorge although it would have been useful to have had some directions at the hotel for how best to get to the gorge as we did not find the river walk on the way there. The hotel is great value for money with a comfortable room although the rooms are a little dated. A really good breakfast was included in the price. When we arrived there was nobody at reception and no-one came if we rang the bell, If this happens just ring the hotel number and somebody will come straight away.

You can see the perennial snow of the Sierra Nevada mountains. If you rent a car, you can even go to the top of the mountain range in an hour. Granada is only 10 minutes away by car, so it's also easy to visit Alhambra. I think Monachil is a pretty and peaceful resort town.

Small quiet town with great restaurants and bars.
Small quiet town with great restaurants and bars. Town located between Granada and the Sierra Nevada Ski resort. Hiking, skiing, shopping, siteseeing etc. whatever your heart desires can be down from there. If you like busy loud areas, that is not the town to go too.

Quaint village but nothing much going on in the evenings in Winter (Coviran/bakery/Pharmacist open) and one cafe bar opened up again at 8pm. This may have been due to Covid, wrong day or just purely lack of visitors in winter.

Monachil is a great place to visit if you like walking.
Monachil is a great place to visit if you like walking. Everywhere there are wonderful views and very steep mountain climbs covered with goats and very picturesque. There is one supermarket and a few basic shops in Monachil. In some ways it is not the prettiest of villages as there is a lot of new building but the area is splendid. People here are also very friendly. We enjoyed our stay here.
The apartment is cozy and a good size for up to 4 people. Beds and sofa bed were comfortable. There was both aircon and heating, but we didn't need to use as the temperatures were just perfect to sleep (early September). The location is excellent for exploring both the mountains of Sierra Nevada and Granada (if you have a car) The place is quite and it is easy to park in the street. There is a big parking lot just in front of the building. Host was kind and answered promptly.
I don't understand why this is labeled as a three star hotel when it feels way more upscale than that. The views, the food, the room, the surroundings, the staff. Everything was perfect. We were also pleasantly surprised wit all the eco friendly efforts and credentials of the hotel. We loved the breakfast and would recommend having a delicious five course dinner at the hotel at least once, specially for a romantic couples dinner.
Plenty of parking, nice big room and elevator was handy. Good breakfast with toast, orange juice and coffee. The location is outside of Granada but we could drive to the Alhambra from the back and avoid the city, which was about 15 minutes away.
It was a lovely spot, with a pretty courtyard. Our hostess was great, and it was very close to Los Cohorres, the hike we intended to do. The restaurant our hostess recommended was the best meal we had in our three weeks in Spain.
Very nice room with nice views. Very relaxing place. Bed was huge and comfortable. Staff is very friendly. We really liked all the different places in the garden to sit and enjoy the views. Nice palace to relax after hiking
Only 20 min from Granada centre, we enjoyed the countryside in the middle of a wine yard, with a beautiful mountain view! We couldn’t ask for a better “local aroma”! We wanted something special and we definitely had it!
Very friendly and welcoming owner, breathtaking drive to the Sierra Nevada. We went skiing and the hotel is great value if you want to stay with in reasonable driving distance.Would any time return with out hesitation.
Location in Monachil was perfect, beside the river at the beginning of Los Cahorros trail and a wonderful roof terrace to look at the hills. Spacious and peaceful. Approx 10min walk from bus stop from Granada.
Great host! Eva is extremely welcoming and bubbly.
We loved the facilities and the location was perfect.
It was the best place we've stayed at this holiday including hotels.
¡Gracias Eva!
Very nice hotel to stay near Alhambra (app. 12 minutes with taxi)... We have leave our car in parking garage and take a taxi to Alhambra and back... Very friendly and all the best...
Location, the quiet (as long as you don't walk in the street because the terrible Spanish dogs are hideous).
the swimming pool, the kitchen. The outdoor seating areas.
A beautiful and quiet place, there were five of us and we lived comfortably, it's 30 minutes away to Sierra Nevada if there are no traffic jams. I recommend it
