Spreading for hundreds of miles from the mouth of the Oslofjord, Oslo is the largest city by area in Europe and is liberally covered in pristine forests rising up into the outlying hills. South of the unassuming city hall lies a vibrant waterfront known as Aker Brygge, which in summer is full of bustling outdoor restaurants and bars.
For the prettiest buildings head to affluent inner-city suburbs of Frogner and Fagerborg, or admire the traditional Scandinavian wooden houses of Bygdøy and Holmenkollen. Monumental buildings include the Royal Palace which runs daily tours and the Akershus Festning, which is a medieval castle that also served as a military base and provides impressive views of the Oslofjord. Oslo City Hall, or rådhus, offers even more distinctive architecture and it is the location of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.
Nature is never far away in Oslo which is ringed by an archipelago of islands which are extremely popular in summer. Hiking, kayaking and sailing are all easily achievable within the city limits. Just as popular are the many museums. The national Museum houses Edvard Munch’s famous painting The Scream and Viking Ship Museum containing long-lost relics from Norway’s Viking past.
From downtown Sentrum to the Oslo Airport Gardermoen to the stunning statues in Frogner Park, Booking.com has over 80 hotels and other accommodations available.
Oslo was very nice- we went in March. I would recommend to go more in the summer as a lot of activities were closed still and we had rainy weather. The city was very quiet, but also very expensive, so it is not a budget-friendly holiday destination!
The saunas were very nice- I would highly recommend. We also went to Well spa, a short bus ride away which was an unforgettable experience.

Such a beautifully clean and safe city.
Such a beautifully clean and safe city. So much history, creativity, design and art is evident throughout this city. I have never felt more safe in a city than I did here. I wish I had more time to enjoy the tourist activities. It is also a foodies haven, so many fabulous options. The city is quite walkable and transit seems like a great alternative. I did not encounter anyone who could not or did not speak English. The people were friendly. The only downfall, it is a very expensive city. The waterfront was my favourite place to spend any leisure time I had. Don't take a taxi from the airport if you can help it, there is a train that goes from the airport right into the central station in Oslo - apparently much faster, cheaper and more convenient. I will know for next time.

Great city to see, but if you don't plan on doing many activities or going to museums a weekend is enough to see the major tourist attractions and see the city. I would definitely not recommend going to the munch museum (while I love his art) especially if you are in a wheelchair or need to bring a bag for (for example) medical reasons because you WILL get permission at first but be kicked out later. Super unfriendly staff and amazingly underwhelming. I would recommend the opera house and wandering around the many different shopping centres. The natural history museum is also very nice! The statue park is definitely worth the walk from the centre!

We were passing through on the way to Stockholm and were there only for the night, unfortunately. Oslo seems like a lovely city, with an attractive and accessible harbour area with lots of restaurants. It was easy to find excellent pubby places and restaurants, the downtown area is very walkable. Possible to walk right up to the royal palace and house of parliament (which would never happen in the US, where we're always half-expecting trouble). Highly recommend Oslo, and then the train trip to Stockholm.

The city had been stormed on so my plan tp spend a day wandering was quashed by icy sidewalks. I went to the Royal Palace and wandered around Sentrum and that was it. City seemed nice and the people I encountered were friendly. If I get the chance I will spend a week in Oslo and really explore. It looks like a great city from the limited visit I had.

Oslo, the capital of Norway, boasts stunning natural beauty,...
Oslo, the capital of Norway, boasts stunning natural beauty, with its picturesque fjords and lush greenery. The city's efficient public transportation and extensive bike paths make it easy to explore, while its rich cultural scene offers a variety of museums, galleries, and vibrant street art. However, the high cost of living can be a drawback for budget travelers, and the winters can be harsh. Despite the pricey aspect, Oslo's charm lies in its blend of modernity and nature, providing a unique experience for visitors.
Located right across the central station, with great connections to the airport, other cities in Norway etc., also within walking distance of the city center’s restaurants, bars etc. The hotel is very modern, rooms spacious, clean and comfortable, with all the amenities you’d come to expect. High floors also offer lovely view of the city and the fjord. Breakfast is the standard buffet you expect in Norway. Prices are not cheap, but then again nothing in Norway is, and compared to other properties in Oslo, it’s a good bottom line.
Breakfast was excelent! Probably one of the best breakfast I ever had and very diverse.
Location was also great, near train station (2-3 minutes walking), only 1 station to the city center. You don’t need a car, it’s the best option to use the train (3 minutes journey to National Theatre), actually I left my car in the garage (20 euro/day).
The hotel is a good value for money.
It was a perfect stay, everything was good. Room was comfortable, warm and clean. Especially the bed and pillow was perfect like made for me, had such good sleep like sleeping at home. Location is very close to the city center and Aker Brygge. There is also a restaurant included in the hotel on the main floor with a good atmosphere.
Everything was wonderful. Starting at the reception, all the staff was very kind and welcoming. The rooms were clean and had everything you need for a stay. Very good beds, shower, big TV. The best place we've stayed in Norway. Location near the center, a few minutes walk.
The hotel is centrally located - just a few minutes walk to the main attractions in the city centre and to public transport links, comfortable beds, enough room for a family with a child, very helpful staff, delicious breakfast, great lobby with large windows.
The room was certainly compact, but travelling alone it was all I needed.
Great bar downstairs and very close to bars, restaurants, and public transport.
Pretty much everything you'd want from a city centre hotel
Great location, the city centre can be reached on foot or by tram, the tram station is right across the hotel. Breakfast was amazing with many choices. Beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly.
The hotel has a great location, next to Oslo central station and various shopping malls. It is also a close walk to the city centre and Opera house. The room is quite big and comfortable, super clean.
Everything was great . Hotel is nice and modern. Room was 100 % clean. Metro is really close and you can be in city center in 15 minutes. Breakfasts were one of the best what i have ever had.
Norway is a really expensive city. This hostel is bad but cheap. It’s not good but at least it enables the possibility of staying in the city and pay a little bit less than normal.
Everything was really nice! It was a pleasure to stay here. The breakfast was excellent. There is a metro station near the hotel, you can get easy and fast to the city centre.
