Basecamp Narvik is offering accommodations in Narvik. 1.4 miles from Narvik Museum and 27 miles from Ballangen Museum, the property provides a ski school, as well as a bar.
There is no bus going to Basecamp Narvik. The only options currently are car, taxi, walking uphill (approx. 30 minutes from downtown) or take a bus to the closest bus stop from which you have to walk some 10 minutes anyway. With the skilift you can go up to a restaurant and sightseeing platforms with fantastic views. I think Narvik is mainly a destination for nature lovers and nature related activities (hiking in summer and skiing in winter).

Quiet ski area. Interesting Arctic town.
Quiet ski area. Interesting Arctic town. Stunning fjords and mountains. Not very focused on international tourists. Good dining options are limited, but service everywhere good. Transport from airport by hire car (recommended) out by airport bus.

Narvik is a good gateway to northern Norway.
Narvik is a good gateway to northern Norway. We stayed only for one night and then continued to Lofoten. There is a famous cable car above the city but it is enough just to get to the lower station of the cable car and there is almost the same view as from the top. The weather is unpredictable and changes quickly.

Narvik is a very pretty and friendly township set along the very beautiful fjords. Delicious cod and local beer at fiskeroken restaurant. Bus ride to Polar Park was a scenic delight and got to see lynx, wolves, deer and bear. Mountain ranges are a stunning snow covered winter wonderland. Train ride to Narvik is amazingly beautiful and breathtaking. Get that camera out!

We flew into Narvik airport which is a bit more than one hour bus drive away from Narvik. We stayed a good guesthouse for one night. Before leaving Narvik we visited an animal park which is approx one hour car drive away, but worthwile a visit if you want to see some of the Norvegian mammals.
Location was excellent in between busstation and trainstation. Both reachable within 10 minuten walk. From Narvik you go (or come) by bus to Fauske (south), Harstad (Lofoten) or Tromso (north to Alta and North Cape) and by train to Kiruna and Stockholm. It's a important place for travellers in each direction. Especially if travelling with interrail.
Hotel is simple but they have coffee all day, breakfast is fine and staff is very friendly and helpfull. Most hotels nearby are rather expensive for 1 night.
I absolutely love this hotel. I remember seeing this building when I first came to Narvik nearly a year ago. It certainly stands out. I knew I had to stay here and I did for 4 nights. I was on the 4th floor, and it came with a view over the fjord. Nearly all the rooms here have either a view like I had or they have a view at the mountains. My room was comfortable. But I needed a chair that I could get comfortable and read. I used the downstairs area to read or write.
Small but well-equipped, a nice kitchen and common room. The place felt spacious, although we did visit at a quiet time, it's probably livelier in summer. The place was being renovated but we weren't bothered by those renovations, which is a good sign. Also very cheap compared to other places in Narvik!
We are skiers - Ideal location for Narvik skiing, other touring locations and Riksgransen. The appartment was very spacious, well equipped and very clean. The location is good. An easy walkk to restaurants and supermarket. Easy and friendly communications with the owner for access etc.
Our room was spacious and clean. The house is close to a road and surrounded by nature. From our room we had a lovely view of the nearby lake and hills. Narvik is a 15 minute drive away. The host was very helpful in answering our questions. We would definitely stay again.
Hotel itself is WOW. Breakfast exceed our expectations, the variety and quality of food is amazing. Staff which is taking care about breakfast buffet is absolutely gorgeous. Bar at the top floor is a great bonus and serve tasty drinks with amazing view.
This is obviously a BIG work in progress. Everything is old and dusty, u sleep in a dark basement.. But the owner is super nice and this town needs some hostel, so I'll give 10* for a little boost.
Hotel is close to the Narvikfjellet resort so when you want to ski and don't have a car, this is the hotel to take. Breakfast was superb and plenty to choose from.
Great property for our very short stay in Narvik, comfortable and warm. Perfectly placed for city centre and local restaurants as well the Flybussen stop.
Reasonable single room in centre of city. I am pleased that Norwegian hotels cater for the single person so that they do not have to pay for double rooms.
