Torquay is a lovely English seaside town, has lots of links to Agatha Christie and some great local restaurants and bars. Lots of things to do only down side is at the moment the town is under going many road works in and out so getting about can be a bit slow by car/taxi. its also very hilly so walking can be difficult if in anyway unabled.

Been to Torquay regularly down the years, but we missed last year due to other commitments. Couldn't believe the change. What has happened to the town? It is a dishevelled, shabby place. Now full of beggars, roadworks, and boarded up shops. Thoroughly depressing and I'm so sad to say that I will not be returning. It is a ghost of what it once was, the jewel in Torbay. Couldn't wait to leave..

Pleasant seaside situation, somewhat run down town centre,...
Pleasant seaside situation, somewhat run down town centre, plenty of restaurants, very hilly, parking is a nightmare and at the moment there is reconstruction going on in the middle of town. It has a charm of a sort and some nice walks if fit. There is a reasonably good bus service to take you to other local towns - Dawlish, Teignmouth, etc - and there are quite a few beaches although as we visited in April and had a planned reason to stay we didn't visit any. Visitors need to choose their hotel carefully - we saw some examples of what might politely be called faded buildings.

Selection of museums to check out at a small cost. There is a lot to see if you have time. The Agatha Christie Mile. Torquay happens to be the birth place of this Legend . Unfortunately our stay was short as this would be definitely on our agenda to do.

Torquay is a typical seaside resort & has something for all ages and it's easy to get around by car, bus or on foot. Bygones museum at St. Marychurch is well worth a visit & Cockington Village has to be seen, especially on a warm sunny day.

Torquay is very run down with a lot of homeless people.
Torquay is very run down with a lot of homeless people. Bad roads, poor surfaces and many potholese. Very expensive parking. Parking at 6.30pm to 7,15pm cost £5. Excessive for the town centre when all the shops are closed and only parking for 45 minutes. I live in a very expensive area of SW London where parking is a fraction of that price.
Lovely hotel with a friendly atmosphere and high standards. Parking for each room is a real bonus, and Torquay seafront is only a 5 minute walk away. Hosts Gary and Philip are clearly committed to providing the very best and were on hand at all times with a cheery smile. Unusual attention to detail, for example, fresh milk and water for the room available self-service from a fridge in the dining room. Room itself was spacious, stylish and comfortable. Bathroom spotless and newly refurbished. Would definitely stay here again!
Arrived at 2pm, attending a funeral and didn't realise the check-in time was 4pm (what hotel has a check in time this late?) Three staff sat on reception doing nothing, wouldn't let me check in as room hadn't been checked! Wasn't sure where the leisure facilities were, think they are spread all over Torquay. Couldn't get an evening meal if not booked with the room. Very geared to elderly coach tours, coach blocking carpark. Cheap and cheerful,, but not the staff
We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions while enjoying a weekend in Torquay. It is close to the town and harbour and the side door on the hill is a great save when returning back to the hotel after a night out. Staff are helpful and pleasant, the rooms are lovely and clean and the bed was fabulous and big. The complimentary breakfast has plenty of choice and lovely and fresh
There is everything to like about this place. The position is ideal, You are so handy for the sea front and town. The guest house was spotless. Every effort was made to make us feel comfortable. The breakfast was first class and finally the owners were so friendly and helpful. My sister and I were visiting family in Torquay and would not hesitate to stay there again.
The hotel is a good location with a good setup. They are 3 hotels all together. Two indoor swimming pools one really big one and an outdoor pool. They even have a games area with pool tables, bowling lanes and arcades. It's almost like a mini complex, great for kids. They have taken covid seriously with one way systems, and pre booked sittings for breakfast.
Great hotel with fabulous service in every area. Lovely breakfasts, don’t miss them and book room only! Only a 10-15 min walk from Torquay harbour and a short walk down to Meadfoot beach. Lovely views of the bay from the hotel and terrace. Lovely terrace area to enjoy a drink. Even the cheapest rooms have everything you need. Certainty will return
The price
The bed was comfy
The shower and bath option
The balcony with the ocean view
The Huge mirrors
The TV has loads of channels
The staff are really polite and friendly if you need anything they will get it for you.
Couldn't ask for a nicer hotel in Torquay!
Thanks we enjoyed our stay ......again!
Our room was a good size, very clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was good.
Staff were friendly.
Enjoyed both pool areas and roomy bar.
Bar meal (catch of the day) was delicious.
Would return; ideal hotel to bring my grandchildren to stay. Pools, good food, near beach.
Liz and Paul were lovely host. They were friendly and offered lots of information about what Torquay had to offer so we could get the best out of our stay.
The room was clean and spacious. The hotel was within close proximity to the beach and town centre.
Breakfast was very good with a great variety of choices. The grounds were very pretty and the hotel was very quiet! Staff was super friendly and it was pretty nice that it is an adults only hotel. We would stay here again.
The lady on the front desk was ever so helpful and all the staff were very nice and everyone made a fuss of our dog with the hotel being so dog friendly made a very refreshing change.
Great value hotel. Great, friendly staff. Though the hotel is on old rambling hotel, the rooms are clean and modern and comfortable. But most of all, it's the price.
