The property is in Moira not in Swadlincote which is three miles away. Moira is and old mining village on the edge of the Ashby Canal. You can walk along the canal for ten minutes to Conkers, a free park and the entrance to Conkers Water Park ( entrance fee.) Swadlincote is a good centre for countryside and riverside walks. It is handy for Derby, Ashby de la Zouch, Leicester and especially Burton-on-Trent. Burton is an excellent shopping centre. There is a lovely park by the river. You can take a tour of the local Brewery and have a lovely lunch, or snack in the tap house. The National Memorial Arboretum is very close just off the A38, and should not be missed - a tranquil and beautiful setting for memorials, not only to the Armed Forces but also the Police, victims of the Twin Towers, and many others.
