It is a very interesting town. There are many fascinating buildings dating from the Georgian period, including the Pantiles.
The shopping area, although small, has several quality outlets.
The general vibe of the town centre is very good especially at night.
Of course, Tunbridge Wells is set amongst beautiful Kent countryside.
A great place to visit.

Despite the early morning cleaners - the noise was intolerable and we could have done with a lie in, considering we didn’t have to check out until 11 - we left by 9! We only had one night booked but expected more . For the price, breakfast should have been included .

We stayed at this hotel over the weekend and we’re very pleased with everything we found there. A very clean, quirky, quiet hotel with great decor, very friendly polite staff and our room was perfect ( superior king room). The breakfast was great, hot and very tasty! I would highly recommend The mount edgecumbe hotel.

Great value homely hotel.
Room comfortable warm and a good size
staff were lovely
breakfast was very good cooked to order which is a big plus factor and plenty selection
The hotel is short walk to town but a bit of a up hill on return but not a major put off and plenty of taxis around if needed
But there are very good high end restaurants within easy reach of the hotel
Would definitely return with a longer stay next time

It is such a beautiful place, I would love to have stayed longer. I wanted to find Shalfords Emporium where they filmed Half a Sixpence which was at the Pantiles, such a cute place.
I ate at Juliets which makes the best cakes and drinks.

We were greeted at this lovely cottage conversion by our host, who explained where everything was and what to do in the event of anything not working or other questions. The exceptionally well equipped kitchen had everything we needed to cook an evening meal and breakfasts. The two single beds were very comfortable and wfi included was useful to find things to do and see.
The property is within a short walk of the Pantiles and the town, and is a good base for trips to many National Trust properties such as Chartwell.
The hotel was in a good location for the Pantiles and Spa Valley railway. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were allowed to check in early, and when my partner had a migraine on our departure day, they allowed him to stay in the room for longer so he could sleep. The room was clean, and the shower was great. We ate there on the first night, and the food was very tasty. Breakfast was good. Another plus was the free parking. We would definitely stay again. Well done, Smith and Western.
We were called beforehand to tell us that the kitchen was closed due to Covid. So we were not allowed in the public areas. The skeleton staff were very helpful but the price of the hotel includes access to the other spaces, so it didn’t feel worth the money. ‘Luckily’ the toilet in our room didn’t flush so we got an upgrade to a much larger room with a fabulous view. It would have been pretty desolate if we’d had to stay in the small room overlooking the road!
Wonderful. What a little gem. Peter an Ann were so welcoming. This neat and quiet B&B has a real home-from-home feel to it. The room was clean, tidy and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, much better than most other B&B or hotels what would have charged much more. As an added bonus, whilst having breakfast, you can look out onto their delightful garden which they manage themselves. I look forward to staying again when I'm in the area.
The hotel was very picturesque. Our room was comfortable, clean, calm, relaxing, lovely and quaint. There were extensive gym and spa facilities. I found the staff to be welcoming and friendly. The customer service I recieved was first class. Overall my experience was very satisfying and I had an enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend a visit to The Spa Hotel.
The hotel is in the old Tunbridge Wells West railway, which has been nicely restored and the “wild west” theme is quite fun. The location is great as it is only a short walk from the town centre and yet nice and quiet. There’s a Sainsbury’s superstore next door, too.
The staff are all nice, friendly and welcoming helping to make my stay very pleasant.
Staff were unfailingly helpful and pleasant. Room was very nice. Food in the restaurant was very good as well. And kudos to the front-desk guy who stayed past his quitting time to stay on the phone and help me navigate from the train station to the hotel (my data on my phone was not working, so I couldn't access the navigation apps on my iphone).
A clean, tidy and spacious room with en-suite bathroom. Well fitted out. Booking for bed and breakfast included a good "full English". The stablishment (pub/hotel) has extensive restaurant and outside "garden" facilities. A very good option in a beautiful area of England with a number of notable National Trust properties to view.
The triple room was large with plenty of storage, it was clean and the shower was good. The staff on reception were very friendly. The hotel was near to the town centre and walking distance to the Pantiles. The hotel was quiet overnight. We liked the complimentary toiletries & hot drinks.
was able to walk to the station and leave my car overnight even if not staying next day. Fair sized room. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was in keeping. Fairly central to the Pantiles and central T Wells. Thanks.
It was a most enjoyable stay in a hotel that was much better than I expected. The staff were amazing and I was particularly grateful to be spontaneously offered a room upgrade on arrival.
The hotel is an older property with lots of character. Room was small but comfortable. Loved the washroom, although very small, so not really for bigger people 🤨.
Beautiful hotel. Really convenient for the town. Had parking which is so convenient when staying in a town. Staff smiley & helpful. An excellent place to stay
