The most popular Wales seaside resort, Llandudno covers a peninsula with 2 sandy coastlines. The North Shore’s wide Victorian promenade is lined with period buildings which now house seafront hotels and guest houses. The beach itself stretches all the way between the Little Orme and Great Orme headlands, passing an outdoor swimming pool.
A historic tram climbs to the peak of Great Orme, where Bronze Age copper mines can be visited. The top is also reachable by cable car from Happy Valley, a recreation area with gardens and an artificial ski slope.
A road runs around the base of the headland passing the historic Grand Hotel, a property available on Booking.com and overlooking the Grade II-listed pier – the longest in Wales. The West Shore is much less developed and the Maesdu Golf Course forms most of its shoreline.
Of course, Llandudno has its fair share of traditional seaside pursuits such as donkey rides and fish and chip shops.
The town also has a modern retail park near the train station and Venue Cymru event centre, and wrought-iron canopies shade smaller shops along Mostyn Avenue, Broadway and Street. The latter - Mostyn Street - is effectively the high street and becomes brightly decorated during the Victorian carnival in May.

LLandudno is ideal for day trips or short, perhaps two day, visits. There are bus services to other locations so visits to other towns are possible if Llandudno becomes dull. There is not a lot to do, I found.
If you are feeling fit, the walk to the top of the Great Orme takes around an hour with a coffee shop on the top. If walking is not an option you can take the tram up and/or down, which is recommended. The car park at the top is a bit expensive. There is also a service bus to the top.

Llandudno is an amazing place to visit - exceptionally clean and litter free. Lots of restaurants, shops, cafes and an immaculate promenade. Cable cars, mountain tram, cafe/park on the summit, dry slope ski centre which also does sno-tubing, tobogganing, mini golf with a restaurant/bar.
Jackie and Dave were just wonderful hosts. They couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The location is wonderful for restaurants, shopping, the waterfront and the Orme tramway. The room was tastefully decorated and very homey.
The location is great for visiting the very close, walled city of Conwy and for exploring the Snowdonia National Forest. The drive on the Devil’s Spine from Llandudno to Cardiff was brilliant!
When Brian the night porter kindly helped me to assess the parking meter in the Council car park next to the hotel at 2.am.It was dark and impossible to do without Brian's help Yes, perhaps it was a " Grand Hotel " in Victorian times but not anymore. It needs total refurbishment. Perhaps because Llandudno, is so popular it can be difficult to get a room there at short notice, the owners see no need to spend money on updating
lovely clean seafront hotel - staff friendly and helpful. only stayed 1 night and opted for the 4 course meal which was lovely and good value for money at £25pp. I had an minor issue with my breakfast (felt my bacon was underdone as prefer it more crispy) and it was changed with no issues at all, great customer service. Good location, nice bar with entertainment - would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Llandudno.
Hotel was clean and in a good location the breakfast was really good, eat all you want and the breakfast staff were lovely I like the seating area, they have a nice bar area and area out the front with table and chairs on a patio with sea views. The lift was a welcome sight. Even though dog friendly I found the hotel to be spotless maybe give the patio a jetwash to get rid of birds dirt.
Amazing location right next to the sea. Perfect for me as a mum traveling with two small ones. We can be on the beach and back in seconds! Lovely enclosed garden was a bonus as I could watch them from inside the property at all times if I needed to pop inside. 7 minute drive to centre of Llandudno. On a good bus route also. Beautiful beach.
You cannot fault this for the price. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a 24 parking area right outside (not linked to the hotel) It was clean, affordable and central to Llandudno.
The little extras like hot chocolate were an added bonus ☺️
Overall, the hotel is tired but the bed was clean and comfortable and the en suite was clean with a decent shower. Good value for money on Llandudno seafront. A small breakfast was even available, which I thought was generous for the price I paid.
I really like this hotel the sea view is amazing, breakfast good restaurant team always do a great job, lift out of order , no gas for the fizzy drinks and that creaky floor but it's still good value for money so we will be back soon
the hotel is spotless , the owners are so welcoming and helpful nothing is too much trouble , the breakfast are wonderful this is the perfect hotel for a stay in Llandudno definitely 5 star quality
Sea view room was lovely. Bedding was exellent quality. The room was spotless. Very good choice for breakfast menu fresh fruits, cereals, yoghurt, full English, toast, tea/coffee and fruit juice.
Excellent.....Best hotel I've stayed in, in llandudno very courteous staff......the staff at the "grand hotel " should take lessons from the staff here will definitely return
