The town of Kendal is great and this flat is well located to access the town centre etc.
I was disappointed with my accommodation as a very poorly equipped kitchen, poor water pressure in kitchen sink, tacky decor and bizarre unintelligible smart door handles.

Kendal has lots to offer visitors and is an ideal place to stay, away from the crowds in the central Lakes. Lots of walking accessible by good public transport, avoids taking the car and trying to find somewhere to park. Plenty of shops and places to eat, especially Corner 124 where you can enjoy an excellent meal.

Although Kendal was not the most picturesque of the towns we visited in the Lake District (the competition is stiff), it still had a lot of charm and no shortage of good shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés. It made an excellent base for seeing the Lake District on public transport. We arrived by rail in late October and used Stagecoach buses for the duration of our stay. The buses were clean, comfortable and reliable, with charging points on the buses. The bus network was very easy to use, with the option to buy tickets and get bus times through the Stagecoach app.
Easy location to get to as its just of the m6, great that it’s got a McDonald’s right next door open 24/7 and the view of the lake each morning was beautiful, staff was very pleasant on arrival and very helpful when I accidentally locked myself out the room (oops😅)
Ideal place to stay for a night or two maximum if your just passing through or wanting just a place to refresh and sleep when exploring the surrounding areas (we only stayed for two nights and had day trips out to Yorkshire dales, Kendal and Windermere.
We had an amazing stay at Arthur’s Cottage - our host allowed us to check in early as we had a wedding to attend and they made this so much easier and stress free. During our stay we had a massive snow storm and got our car stuck in Windermere - our host checked in with us to check if we were okay and offered a late check out until we could get sorted. We would book again anytime if we need to be in Kendal again. Apartment was very clean and heating was on for us when we arrived. Perfect location. Great experience.
The hotel is very convenient for exploring Kendal. Our room overlooked the River Kent. In fact, it was immediately adjacent to the river, so was quiet at night. Breakfast was a, mostly very, good buffet.
We ate one evening meal, which was excellent; we both opted for rump steaks and they were some of the best we have eaten in quite some time. The wine list was very good and reasonably priced, as was the meal.
There was also complimentary, covered car parking within 100 yards of the hotel
If you want to be in central Kendal with a parking space then this is the place. Absolutely 5 stars for this location, tucked away beside Booths (a favourite place to shop) and with a level walk to the main street with all its pubs, restaurants and shops. There are plenty of rural walks from the town (although it is all uphill to start with...) with some fabulous views of this area at the edge of the Lakes. The railway station is also a level walk of about ten minutes.
friendly welcoming staff - very nice eve meal and plentiful breakfast! Room was all sealed covid safe and beds towels etc. very clean the windows etc are a bit scruffy and general view out of window wasn’t great as overlooked car park and a few skips etc but on whole for a one night stop off it was great - didn’t use pool but lounge area etc nice and clean - didn’t particularly like Kendal Town centre itself so I was glad hotel was up hill out of town
We liked the location, the comfortable quiet accomodations. The breakfast was exceptional. The hosts Wendy and Richard were friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area. we had some really nice walks thanks to them.
Kendal is a lovely little town with an ancient history. The little windy streets and buildings were charming. It was so easy, as well, to get deeper into the lake district.
We would definitely stay here again.
Everything! Comfort of beds, staff were excellent and nothing too much trouble, fab shower, spotlessly clean, lovely soft towels, entertainment every night (unexpected). Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Come out of Kendal Station and it is situated right opposite. Just fabulous base for us. Well done guys with first class customer service xxx
Room we stayed at (room one) was beautiful!! Really exceeded our expectations. Hotel was lovely and so was the decor, the horses next door was an added bonus! Very near Kendal town and only a short drive to Windermere. Food was good, slightly expensive for what it was and was hoping for a more al a carte menu but happy either way.
The location is very suitable for driving and is just next to the main road leading to Kendal. The hotel is situated next to a farm shop and surrounded by green pastures. The staff are very friendly, and pets are welcome. The restaurant is amazing, and source local produce for the food and beverages.
Super clean and tidy, it has everything you need. Beds are very comfortable, bathroom has nice shower with good water pressure. It’s located next to Kendal in a nice quiet area, at a short drive from the Lakes. Sara was always quick and helpful for any request, great communication.
Lyndhurst guest house is in an ideal location to explore the area. Just a short walk to town center & Kendal castle. Yvonne is a great host, dedicated to her job. Kendal is a lovely place to visit
The room was really big, nicely decorated with a settee and tv. The location was perfect for us as we arrived by train and you can see the hotel from the train station so not far to walk at all.
Alexandra's pub was good .Breakfast in hotel conservatory was lovely. Setting of hotel in pretty gardens also the hotel was in perfect location for visiting Kendal.
