It was only a short walk to Portman Road for a football match between Ipswich and Middlesbrough (my team) - staff were helpful, if needed.

Restaurant on site, swimming pool, room with garden access, generous room size. Overall it is a nice hotel, looks pompous with it's furniture and gilding

Maybe we are not looking in the right places but our view of Ipswich is that of a run-down, sad town. Even the waterfront seems an unhappy place.
The nicest hotel-run restaurant we could find for breakfast by the waterfront was probably a lovely place at some point but was worn out and in desperate need of redecoration. We run away from Ipswich for the third time, to decompress in beautiful Suffolk countryside where there are dozens of nice, well looked after towns

I've lived in Ipswich for a good 15+ years.
I've lived in Ipswich for a good 15+ years.
Since my return it has changed for the worse and just feels empty and lacking of anything worthwhile to do.
Parks are good (mainly in the town), lots of charity shops, bookies and pubs but lots of high street shops have closed or just boarded up.
Out of the town, lots of nice pubs to visit and walks if you have a pet or two.

The city has easily available, if you have a car, or like a walk. Access to supermarkets for us as we prefered to dine-in. Plus easy access to points of interest in Suffolk. Great selection of National Trust properties within day-trip distance.

We visit Ipswich Atleast once a year to see family, it is a pleasant city with plenty to see and do. If you are driving I recommend paying close attention to your satnav because the roads can be slightly confusing! There is a lot of history behind Ipswich which can be fascinating also. There are plenty of places to dine and drink whether that’s at a local McDonald’s or a restaurant you won’t be short handed.

Ipswich is a good base to use for visiting other areas, but it is a bit limited on places to eat at night. It has a good Railway service, and also bus service, which we made use of as we did not have a car with us. It is very nice down at the Waterfront, but we were disappointed that there were no boat trips at all when we were there, as we would certainly have gone on one had there been.

The staff was very helpful throughout our stay,we had a problem on our first night with other people shouting and slamming doors. The next morning when I went to complain they had removed the people from site and acting very quick to ensure everyone who was staying there was happy, they went over and beyond to make our stay very relaxing and could not have done any more. So we'll done to the management and staff.
I stayed a week in order to attend an event at nearby Trinity Park with my dog. I had an excellent stay - the staff, without exception, were the friendliest of any hotel I have ever stayed in - nothing was too much trouble. The room was a decent size and recently decorated and the bathroom appears new. Dogs are welcome in the bar area (where you can also choose to eat) and the breakfasts are fantastic. All in all, my dog and I were made to feel very welcome (and a special thank you to Maisie for the dog treats!)
It’s one of the most interesting, swankiest fun curious hotels that I’ve ever been to. Even though they try to make it seem like it’s a movie theater. It seems more like a nightclub vibe. You walking to the main entrance, and you greeted by the hotel staff behind the bar/rececption. The dining area is fun. You can play pool for free. You can play darts for free and play video games for free. There are several couches around for people to relax and socialize.
Breakfast to go was ample food for each person. Hopefully diabetic options available on request.
when additional milk was requested for hot drinks, owner happily gave more supplies generously.
owner very sociable and interested in his clients welfare
My room was a superiour single, newly refurbished and furnished in tasteful style, not a tiny room like some singles in other establishments!
Free parking at a hotel near city centre a definite bonus!!
The location close to the Neptune marina and Ipswich waterfront was excellent with a free parking spot. Plenty of decent restaurants, cafes and bars within walking distance. Having 2 bathrooms (one on-suite) was a definite plus. Beds were comfortable. Compact kitchen but has everything you need. WiFi worked well and 2 in our party were able to work comfortably from the table. Also just 20 minute walk to the shops in the town centre.
The hotel is very well located for the station, town centre and marina. It has a good set up on the ground floor with a comfortable bar area and restaurant with a terrace onto the river. Bed was comfortable and shower was decent. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was very nice. The man covering breakfast service usually does maintenance apparently, but he was a great ambassador for Ipswich and very welcoming.
Breakfast is well presented and a great start to the day. Enjoyed the full breakfast treat immensely. The pool is excellent and the pool area very pleasant. My hotel suite was ok , nice shower and bed with pillows was good.
Had really nice room service one night and ate in the restaurant the other night which was good food at reasonable price so a good choice to looking for somewhere else nearby.
(Ben was his usual very helpful self 🆘, along with any, staff answering my questions I have had.)
(I know over 34,000 people 👭 on Social media,) All gained from just August 2022, until now, and I will only recommend The Easy Hotel 🏨 3-5 Northgate Street, Ipswich IP1 3BX 💕 to use when you're staying at the famous Ipswich!)
Hotel is well placed for for an evening event we attended in Ipswich. It has a great look and feel and our room was well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was great. The staff of reception dealt very well with a noise issue we had encountered.
It's always where we stay when visiting relatives in Ipswich. Top quality rooms. On-site parking. Nothing to fault it. Always nice to meet up with Martin. Shared kitchen for those who need it but fridge and microwave in bedroom anyway.
Great location, right in the town centre but hidden away.
Nice clean and modern style to the apartment.
And as an added bonus a super coffee machine and included pods of a variety of tastes.
