The Gent who owned the place had only just taken over but he was a pleasant chap who was helpful and attentive.
It looks like the menu is going to be very interesting as he has Indian food (his wife like mine Indian) to come online so someone will get a treat!

More than world class hospitality, it was like family.
We arrived very early in the morning after an overnight flight and were greeted with a warm smile and a key to our room which had been upgraded. That was quickly followed up with a lovely breakfast and beer. The grounds and view was so beautiful.
Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We slept with the window open and there was zero noise from the street... so peaceful.
I will absolutely stay here for future visits to this area.
Beautiful are of West Yorkshire lots of character and charm.
Beautiful are of West Yorkshire lots of character and charm. The Piece Hall is a spectacular piece of history and Architecture which, is being preserved by the trustees imaginative use of the grand space. Shopping, eateries, bars, seasonal events and entertainment. And, now it’s hosting some big name bands and doing really well. Lots of little market towns (Think - last of the summer wine) & historically rich in and around Halifax Town. Lots to do for entertainment if you visit

Supposed to be secured front door only access was a code provided but on arrival doors were open. On message to property they said they will get engineer out as no body as told them. That was not true as we met another guy staying at property and said he had told them several times.
Floor boards up in room letting in slugs and again told them and they said sorry and thanks for letting them know as first time this as happened, again not true as read other reviews.

Halifax has a wide range of shops, pubs and fun things to do. Everything is fairly close together and there's plenty of places to park your car. There's a great choice of places to eat from the big names such as McDonalds, Burger King, KFC as well as some more independent eateries, including a Greek restaurant. Halifax town centre also has a cinema, mini golf, the famous Piece Hall which often has live music, markets and more.

The Piece Hall was great to tour round with lots of individual shops and places to eat & drink.
The Minster is interesting & worth viewing and there is a reasonable shopping centre.
At the moment there are lots of road works which for an outsider quite difficult to negotiate.

there is plenty to do and see in Halifax from the Peace Hall to Urika and that is only a few mins walk from the town.
If you wish for lively night then I sugest the town centre on a friday or saturday and you can fill ya boots with booze. but if you prefer a quiet time then take a walk and there is plenty of them to discover
The room was pleasantly decorated and the bed was not uncomfortable. However, the bathroom overwhelmingly smelled of cigarettes. The fan didn’t appear to be working, so the smell remained the same for the entire stay. It was as strong as if someone was actually smoking in the room, which led us to believe that it led onto a designated smoking area outside. Not a wise design!! This was extremely unpleasant and really did ruin our stay.
The road up to the hotel was extremely steep and not for the faint hearted. The view however was lovely.
This is no-frills, budget accommodation in Halifax town centre. Well located close to the station and numerous restaurants. The hotel is a bit scruffy in places, but the room was clean and there was plenty of hot water and electric sockets. Breakfast choices: simple continental or cooked. Staff very friendly and helpful - thank you. Note: parking is now £5/night, not free. Park in the little car park in Alfred Street East, not in the nearby Eureka! car park.
The location. It's beautiful and a short walk to sowerby bridge where you can get the train to Halifax. Or a taxi is 10 mins.
The hotel rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The restaurant food is incredible and the staff are lovely. We would stay again but wouldn't pay more for balcony as like I say you cannot keep windows open to keep cool. The seating area for the bar has views a plenty of the surroundings.
The staff were great and very chatty, willing to go out they're way to help. The location of the hotel was right in the centre of everything and a short walk away from the train station. If you are visiting shibden Hall this is a good location as you can either get the bus or take a walk for 20 minutes. The room I couldn't not fault very clean! I would reccomend this to anyone wanting to stay in Halifax!
Staff were very friendly and welcoming, providing excellent recommendations on things to see and do in the area and were obviously part of a happy team. The hotel is indeed a 'hidden gem' on the outskirts of Halifax. The room was comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent and the hotel was good value for money.
A beautiful home in a pretty village with easy access to Halifax and Huddersfield. The Lodge is a spacious yet warm and cozy cottage with everything you could need. We had a wonderful Christmas there. Andrew and Charlotte were friendly and kind hosts and we look forward to visiting again!
Great location - few minutes walk from The Piece Hall and centre of Halifax.
Staff were very friendly.
The hotel’s facilities and presentation were reflected in the very reasonable price.
Bed was clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was decent.
food, awesome. Location near Halifax, while in the country for its great hikes. ‘Younger’ Simon is a natural for hospitality, provided exceptional help. Simon the elder, running reception/show was excellent as well.
Great pub atmosphere, food very good, in a tranquil area surrounded by country side but only 4 miles from the centre of Halifax. Caters for people with food as allergies and accepts dogs. Staff very friendly.
We had a one night stay to attend a function. We only used the hotel to sleep and have breakfast. The room was clean and reasonably furnished. The breakfast was fine. It would be unfair to comment further.
Room was lovely and absolutely spotless. Comfy bed and plenty towels and good tea/coffee options. Really close to a bus stop in/out of Halifax - it doesn't run late but handy for daytime.
This is a beautiful apartment in the heart of Halifax. Very convenient location. Great stay and lovely apartment owner who could not have been more helpful. Thank you so.much xx
Could not have had a better over night stay. Perfect location for access into Halifax. The hotel was beautiful and immaculate. The staff went out of their way to accommodate.
Friendly, professional and all members of staff ensured our stay was comfortable and relaxing.
Food excellent .
Very clean accommodation.
Good base for Halifax.
