Beautiful are of West Yorkshire lots of character and charm. The Piece Hall is a spectacular piece of history and Architecture which, is being preserved by the trustees imaginative use of the grand space. Shopping, eateries, bars, seasonal events and entertainment. And, now it’s hosting some big name bands and doing really well. Lots of little market towns (Think - last of the summer wine) & historically rich in and around Halifax Town. Lots to do for entertainment if you visit

Supposed to be secured front door only access was a code provided but on arrival doors were open. On message to property they said they will get engineer out as no body as told them. That was not true as we met another guy staying at property and said he had told them several times.
Floor boards up in room letting in slugs and again told them and they said sorry and thanks for letting them know as first time this as happened, again not true as read other reviews.

Halifax has a wide range of shops, pubs and fun things to do. Everything is fairly close together and there's plenty of places to park your car. There's a great choice of places to eat from the big names such as McDonalds, Burger King, KFC as well as some more independent eateries, including a Greek restaurant. Halifax town centre also has a cinema, mini golf, the famous Piece Hall which often has live music, markets and more.

The Piece Hall was great to tour round with lots of individual shops and places to eat & drink.
The Minster is interesting & worth viewing and there is a reasonable shopping centre.
At the moment there are lots of road works which for an outsider quite difficult to negotiate.

there is plenty to do and see in Halifax from the Peace Hall to Urika and that is only a few mins walk from the town.
If you wish for lively night then I sugest the town centre on a friday or saturday and you can fill ya boots with booze. but if you prefer a quiet time then take a walk and there is plenty of them to discover
Jackie the manager was amazing. Really welcoming and nothing was too much bother for her.
The hotel is a pub but its not noisy and guests can take drinks to their rooms.
My wife has mobility problems and so were ground floor right next to the pub but you couldn't hear any noise. We had a wet room so easy access for my wife to shower.
Even had beds that my wife could raise the feet end or we could caise the head end! Room was full accessible for wheelchair users.
Perfect location for us to explore Halifax and Howarth
The room and en-suite we comfortable, spacious and clean. The freshly cooked breakfast was very nice with lots of choice. The staff were very friendly, As we were staying in February we were able to check-in at about midday which was very helpful. There was plenty of parking available next to the Inn which was free. We had lunch in the restaurant on one day and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The views were excellent over the valley especially with the snow. The trip into Halifax took less than ten minutes.
The location. It's beautiful and a short walk to sowerby bridge where you can get the train to Halifax. Or a taxi is 10 mins.
The hotel rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The restaurant food is incredible and the staff are lovely. We would stay again but wouldn't pay more for balcony as like I say you cannot keep windows open to keep cool. The seating area for the bar has views a plenty of the surroundings.
We came to 1885 the Venue because we were going to a wedding nearby and I can honestly say that everything exceeded our expectations! The staff were incredible and helped us out with anything from booking taxis to finding safety pins!
Breakfast was exceptional and the menu was highly varied.
Parking was easy and the car park large.
We will definitely be recommending this hotel to anyone visiting the area!
Great location to reach most places in Halifax!
The value for money is pretty good, the room was really big and the best part of it was probably the bathroom.
The mattress though was really thin and made the bed super tough. Not the best nights of sleep really.
We didn't have any meals at the hotel as I'm a coeliac and they didn't really seem to be properly aware about gluten free food options.
We had decided to stay at The Shakespeare Hotel because of it’s close proximity to The Piece Hall (2 minute walk) as we were attending a concert there.
The room was large, comfortable and clean with everything we needed for our stay. The staff were warm and welcoming, and breakfast was good. It would definitely be our first choice if we come to another gig in Halifax
Great location and very near the train station (although it is uphill on the way there so I took a taxi up the hill, but walked back for my return). The hotel room was fine--the basics. But, it was clean enough and the bed was okay and it's in a good area with lots to see and do. It's only about 2 blocks from the famous Piece Hall.
We loved Halifax and our hotel, which is located right next to the town hall. The reception girls Ciara and Emily were very helpful, professional and the room clean, warm and comfy. We absolutely recommend the White Swan hotel. Thank you very much for making our trip memorable. Zuzana and Attila.
A beautiful home in a pretty village with easy access to Halifax and Huddersfield. The Lodge is a spacious yet warm and cozy cottage with everything you could need. We had a wonderful Christmas there. Andrew and Charlotte were friendly and kind hosts and we look forward to visiting again!
No breakfast, hotel was under new ownership and it was a self check in hotel. Location was good ( but DO NOT follow gps directions as that took you the hard way round)but had to go in to town for everything as that was the only place to get breakfast and buy anything.
Very helpful staff. Big room with a seating area and a nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. Good quality breakfast. The hotel is in an impressive building. Brilliant value for money.
Location for Halifax centre was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good and certainly plenty of it, so go hungry! Very clean and comfortable.
The apartment was perfectly located in the centre of halifax. Lovely Décor and really comfortable stay , will definitely be visiting back again. Great value for money.
Well equipped kitchen. Shane was very welcoming and helpful. Nicely furnished. It's an easy walk into central Halifax. Check-in was very straightforward.
