The place is lovely, clean and their restaurant has great food. The location is great to discover the area such as the Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove Beach, Lulworth Castle, Cerne Abbas Giant or Badbury Rings. It worth to visit the Sculpture by the Lakes as well. Fantastic bonus that hey have electric car chargers in their parking lot, so you can just plug in for the night and off to explore next morning :) Highly recommend the place!

Proper pub, food was good. Rooms were nice and clean.
Dorchester has the feel of a small town with many delightful...
Dorchester has the feel of a small town with many delightful old buildings, cafes, pubs and restaurants, all seemingly selling good food. There are many museums in and around the town centre, often easy to get to on foot. There is Roman history here, medieval too, a long military heritage and of course the dinosaurs of the famous Jurassic coast. Too many things to do in just one weekend, and many more attractions only a short car-drive away. The shops? - Well we never had time to explore them!

The Dorchester Museum is excellent.
The Dorchester Museum is excellent. We called in just to find out about the Iron Age fort and ended up learning so much more. Everything is very clearly displayed and explained in enough detail, but not too much. There are some remarkable Roman mosaics, a good overview of a fascinating history of the area, and an interesting section about Thomas Hardy. We were there in cold, wet February weather, so outdoor activities didn’t suit the weather. At different times of the year the outdoor activities in the area have great promise.

We only went for my cousin wedding at the towns registry office, that was a very good experience. We had intended to look around the town on the following day but the weather was so foul we travelled back home.
The town for what we saw had some wonderful historical building, and we would have liked to explored more

An important county town, oozing history, good restaurant options and fine shops. The Council provides helpful parking. The District Hospital was one of the best NHS performers I have experienced, thankyou. Don't miss the museum.
Stunning location overlooking a running Brook. Nikki, the owner was extremely gracious in upgrading us to the cottage from our room in the house as it was not booked for the duration of our stay. The cottage was spacious with a large balcony right over the Brook, could see lots of wild birds in the mornings. Also only a short drive from Dorchester so finding places to eat was easy.
Her knowledge of the Dorset area is also fantastic and she would give is valuable tips on how to plan our days every morning
This was easily the best hotel during our UK trip. The staff was lovely, the food was amazing ( tasty, big portions and fairly priced), the continental breakfast had many options, the rooms were nice and clean.
The position is perfect to visit the Jurassic coast both west and east, it's just 27 minutes from Lulworth cove and Durdle door, and 25 minutes from Waymouth.
The property is situated in a quant setting by the riverbank surrounded by the beauty of nature. Yet,Dorchester and a vast choice of dining area are within just a few miles. The contrast of which offers both the still and peace of the property location and then those seeking a more lively visit, have the bustle of fine eateries within reaching distance.
Westwood house was an amazing little find!..the rooms were beautifully done, very clean, shower was amazing…
Owners of Westwood house were amazing & friendly and always attentive.
Breakfast was sooo good and plenty of choice..I would definitely recommend.
If ever we were back in Dorchester this place has to be a must place to stay.
Thank you x
Location was very good. Breakfast was good. The weather was very poor so we stayed in the hotel for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the menu. We had expected a traditional, somewhat boring menu, but the menu was modern and the food quality was excellent. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating.
The accommodation was warm, clean and the extra king-size bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional. The food was exceptional and well proportioned. At £85 a night including an excellent breakfast it was very good value. Set in beautiful Dorset countryside but only10 minutes from Dorchester.
Lovely pub in a picturesque Dorset village, very quiet and peaceful. Ideally placed for visiting Dorchester (Maiden castle), the Jurassic coast and Corfe castle. Very friendly pub staff and great food and beer. We were made to feel very welcome. A revisit is definitely on the cards
The location of the hotel in the centre of Dorchester was ideal and the car park behind the hotel was a real bonus. The restaurant served excellent food in the evenings and there was an unusual choice of vegetarian options.

Very pleasant hotel in the center of Dorchester. I was there for a conference and it fitted my needs perfectly. Very friendly staff, pleasant room, nice entrance lobby. Reasonable price.
The staff were excellent and very welcoming. Hotel is clean and bed was very comfortable. Drinking and dining areas were lively and spacious and the food was very good. Easy parking.
Perfect location for Dorchester and Weymouth. A beautiful 4th floor room with great views and very quiet. Lovely Christmas decorations enhancing the character of the hotel.
The host of the hotel took the time to chat with each guest, and was helpful in sharing tips about visiting the surrounding area. Many decors in the hotel looked nice.
The landlady couldn't do enough for me and my mate who were in dorchester for a army reunion a lot of larger hotels could learn from the landlady customer care
